The trick of casting it on a high level target to get more damage doesn't work anymore.
The good thing is that in pve, any rit casting rage on a boss used to deal tons of damage (higher lvl+ double damage as boss was the damage dealer with rage).

really? i've never felt that i needed to see the numbers, to know i used my own skill correctly, especially with other targets dying.

Just because you were ok w/ not seeing the numbers doesn't mean that it wasn't an oversight, nor does it mean that it's ok and you should just assume it's working. If AR wasn't working correctly, or was doing the wrong amount of damage, how would you ever know w/o seeing the numbers? Furthermore, by seeing the numbers, you can tell if AR is hitting lightning resistant enemies or ones vulnerable to it...
If showing the damage numbers for your attack skills is the standard, then a skill not following that pattern needs to be addressed...
