Unlucky Title Advice Needed!
Day Trooper
So, this weekend I'm planning on standing on a corner ring in 9-rings to work on unlucky title...
I was planning on purchasing 10,000 tickets and just leaving my char there for the duration of the festival.
Is 10,000 enough? Or will I lose that many tix long before the weekend is over?
I'm asking for advice from those who have done this during previous Cantha festivals.
Many thanks!!!

i beleive in the end no matter where you stand you win about the same. 9 rings is better i think for lucky and 12 rings for unlucky.
Why not go lucky title first lol... obvious reasons.
Mine is higher than my unlucky so you times you do find yourself making money. Buy as much tickets as you can lol they have same buy/sell price so if you have any left at end of event sell em back.
ok everytime i get enough money for my new armor set...yep event comes around. byebye 100k spent on tickets

Here's the best advice I can give.

GuildWiki always does the best research, imo.

If you plan on Un-Lucky only then id play 12 rings and play a corner. if you ever plan on working on lucky id play 9 rings as 12 rings will cost you way more in the long run.
And so you know at current state with 2 boardwalks a year i estimate it to take about 5-8years to max title depending on how unlucky you are and no lockpicks being used along the way.
But incase you are abit confused on it all together the best advice for the long haul is playing a corner in the 9 rings. Its the best chance to progress lucky and unlucky at same time
Also it doesnt matter how many tix you buy, at the end of the festival you can sell them back for the same price to the merchant losing no money if you overbuy them.
Ill be in D9 all weekend IGN Nya Boto.

However - it appears that Unlucky (any way you look at it) is incredibly hard to max out. (Has anyone maxed it out?)
While the lucky title can be attained much 'quicker' (but still takes a looong time).

That most venerable of Shing Jea events, the Shing Jea Boardwalk will make a special appearance during the festival. |
With the boardwalk, it isn't hard, it just takes money. And time (about 30 days of standing in the boardwalk). Basically, buy a lot of tickets, and stand in one of the corners of Nine Rings. 14 or so hours later you should have your title. Plus the lucky title as well.
If you're chest running, then yes, it's incredibly hard to max out. Especially compared to Boardwalk. I've never seen anyone with it maxed. Seen a few with the rank right below it, but never with max.
And sorry if what I said wasn't helpful earlier. That was not my intention.

Oh damn, totally overlooked it.

On topic: 10,000 tickets probably won't be enough to max it. Unless my math is wrong, which is a distinct possibility. Even if it were you wouldn't have time to do it, even if you let it run afk all weekend. You can get pretty far, but not all the way there.
Covah
you can't max the title in one weekend unless you are really close to the last tier. not enough time
Skyy High
I don't think he wants to max it, he just wants to know how many tickets he should buy, so that if he sits on 9 rings the entire weekend, he run out of tickets and he won't have to check his character.

Doesn't Anet kick you off after like 14 hours of inactivity?
EDIT: Yeah here it is quoted from GuildWiki in relation to death leveling:
So you'll still have to check it every once in awhile, just to make sure you're still actually in the game.

Warning: After 10 hours of no activity at all (no movement, no keystrikes, no inputs, etc.) you will be automatically disconnected from the server with an error 059. Also beware that sometimes after 24 hours you will get kicked off the game regardless. |

"Loss of Tickets: 203.2 Tickets/Hour" on 9 Rings (see wiki)
With 10000 Tickets (statistically) you will be able to play 49,21 Hours, so it won't be enough for the entire event.
EDIT: And don't forget unlucky streaks, that can always happen.
So I'd buy a couple more tickets than the calculation would predict.
