With the way we get information, we aren't sure about anything and end up getting frustrated when Anet does it differently or goes back on whatever it is they said. *points at Mini Pig Woes topic and other random places on this site*

I'm personally just going to wait until the event starts and I can know for sure. With the way our luck has been so far in regards to Anet decisions during events, we'd probably get smacked with the celestial rat eats completely different things from the celestial pig, and therefore have time wasted in farming.

Uncertainty..ugh. I still really love these events but I got to stay away from all the uncertain frustration that goes prior to events lately...or post event...ugh mini polar bear and learning about it 24 hrs before end of event.

I tend to agree that it will 'probably' be 'similar' to last years list....


I am wondering what the heck anet is thinking...no new hat, get last years (even though they are supposed to be 'special' for the event...not anymore).
More and more they are doing things that distance them from the community, are they purposing trying to irritate us? Or do the just not give a ratsass about gw1 anylonger with their new gw2 coming out (sometime before the end of the decade), have they given some noob the reigns of gw and said "do whatever, we dont care anymore"?????

I am saddened by the way things are going in this game. I wont be buying gw2, so they have already lost my 2cents for that. If these changes are to get us to stop playing, they are trying very very hard to do just that---and they may succeed so they can turn off the gw1 servers before gw2 comes out, gee they would save some money that way, dontyathink?

yes, there wont be a new hat, but it doesnt bother me at all, after getting the hats and storing them with the npc, i havent taken those hats out ever, so it really doesnt bother me.

about being the same hat than last year, well, we'll get something else instead of a new hat, and hopefully it wil be better than a hat that doesnt do anything. and also, its only this lion head hat, other hats remain "special".

i dont feel distanced nor irritated by their actions, so that is subjective, there are those who will feel like you, but there are others who arent feeling like that.

and about the items, im acquiring the easy to get ones, damn the smoking remains and guardian moss, those among a few others (truffles<.<) will be the hardest to get >.<

If the hats are the same, then that is kinda lame. But I think it's worth remembering that there doesn't have to be any holidays in GW. They are bonuses. And while I don't like it when ANet simply reuses ideas without showing any creativity or progression, for better or worse I suspect they truly are pouring all their efforts into GW2 at this point with a skeleton crew watching over GW1.

On the other hand, some positives are a new minipet plus something for all those extra pigs we got last year (I just hope it doesn't require too many of them because I didn't get that many and paying 100k/pig is in some distant realm beyond absurd) as well as a new title track and (hopefully) better rollerbeetle racing.

Well, even though the hat may be the same, there's still a 'volatile surprise' at the end of the event, or something like that. Rats probably plague us and blow us all up! I'm not taking any survivor characters in there just in case of a glitch or something. :P

I am disappointed about not getting a new hat/mask.

A lot of my friends didn't even like the lion mask to begin with, so to get it again...eh...

I know that you must have at least one of each to get the 'prize' but multiples?? not sure.....I guess the best answer is that when the chef asks for an ingredient he MUST get one of them--if he asks for it again, he MUST get another one....he may NOT ask for all the ones listed and he may ask for them multiple times. Yes that is my answer and I am sticking to it.

I wander how many ppl beside me bother gathering the last year ingredients :P
