Looking for the guy I was in Shards dungeon with

I had a very unfortunate incident about half an hour ago. I was with a warrior in Shards of Orr dungeon normal mode. I accidentally hit Shift+Ctrl+H and made all my windows, chat, everything disappear. I didn't know how to bring it all back. I didn't know what keys it was until I came back online and asked alliance chat.

I have more description of what happened. I'm trying to find the guy I was with but I can't remember his name. Should I place a call in this forum or the Riverside forum here?

If you haven't logged off, check your friends list, all the way at the bottom for "People Partied With."

No- he was holding ctrl to look for enemies and was using shift to make a capital H

Yeah I guess I lost the guy. But I did get the Shards dungeon done in another group. Infact I got my max North title and did the Snowman cave a couple times to get my 15th max title. That gets me set for the festival since it will be hard to find groups for anything during that time.

As for how I accidentally hit Ctrl, Shift, and H, I'm not exactly sure. But I think I was doing my Ctrl and Alt "chord" hold with my pinky and thumb on my left hand. And the pinky must have slipped up to the shift key. I use a gaming laptop now and it can be easy to slip onto the wrong keys on this keyboard.

Not sure how I hit the H key. I was kinda mashing buttons a bit because the action was hectic. It's the part where you light up four braziers in the circular room and fight the group that pops up.

What I should have done is pressed the Windows key to minimize, and look up on wiki or google on how to get in and out of that mode.

Anyways the guy I gamed with was a tank with a few monk heroes for a Shards set up. It was Thursday, February 7, approx 7:30pm Pacific Standard Time. I managed to get a few /helpme emotes though and probably got "a few "OMG" 's in the chat box, which I couldn't see of course. If the guy happens to be reading this, sorry 'bout that. Totally unfortunate and accidental incident. I hope he eventually got or gets the dungeon finished too.

Nooooo it wasn't like that LOL.
But I just hope he doesn't think I ditched him or anything like that. We lost the battle and got rezzed at a shrine and that's about when I may have succeeded in typing "OMG" a few times in the chat box I couldn't see. I'm hoping he didn't interpret that as "OMG this is horrible, I'm leaving!" when it was really "OMG, I can't see the freaking chat box or anything and I don't know how to get them all back!"

I kind of recall how his armor looks like so if I'm hanging out at Gadd's and see him, I'll ask if it was him. The party I later did Shards with have made a habit to joke around the camp fire there so I may be there anyways. There's no need to log in and hang out there just to look for my partner. But hopefully I catch up with him and explain what happened.

From now on when I join a party, I'll put one or more of the names temporarily in my Friends list just incase anything like this happens again. That way a record of their username will be there when I log back in.

Look at botton of window friends list, you will find the names of... last trades... last pugs you in... its usefull...

I looked at the friends list at the bottom when I logged back in but it was empty. Just my friends and ignored list. All the temporary team mates listing was reset. I even went to the whisper in my chat box and whispered the names that were preset there but no luck there.

It's nice to see someone who cares enough to find someone to apologize for an error. I hope you do find them, but if you don't you shouldn't feel bad because you at least tried.

Personally, I wish the game would "remember" better who you had grouped with recently. Sometimes the game quits or locks up or your computer crashes or your internet gets disconnected ... Stuff happens.

I was in a group once for a mission and suddenly realized I couldn't read or speak in team chat AT ALL. It was terrible. I realized later I had team chat turned off for some bizarre reason. Doh! We did finish the mission, though, with me as the "strong silent type".

If I do end up "ditching" people for some accidental reason, though, it'd be nice if there was a way I could recontact him/her/them and explain what happened even after restarting the game.
