Strange gate in Icedome
Carinae
While Vanquishing Icedome I came across this strange gate in the northwest corner. Note the minimap indicating where this gate opens towards.
I know of a few others, but I was unaware of this one.

Random doodad added to add some more character to the area, rather than plain after plain of snow?
Blonde Warrior

Sha Noran
I stopped caring about all those random gates in the Shiverpeaks after they didn't put any of them to use with the release of Sorrow's Furnace. =S
Sophitia Leafblade
Its just a random bit of decoration to infer that there is more terrain/areas of the world than you are currently not allowed to explore

Too many Azures and Ice Golems for an MM to be reasonably reliable. And vs heavy physical damage, 2x SS is WIN.
2x Aegis
2x Enfeebling Blood
2x Reckless Haste
Watch Yourself!
Shields Up!
Defensive Anthem
Was getting pissed at the huge Ranger groups.

There's another one of these "dead end gates" in the SE corner of Tasca's Demise. IIRC, you can actually see the path behind that one going off into the distance.
Sadly, it seems like neither gate will see use, as GWEN didn't "upgrade" them into dungeon entrances or anything else of the sort.

Similar gates to nowhere are in many other places.
I think they are either entrances to zones that got removed from the game prior to release, or they are there to give us the impression that the world is bigger than the explorable parts.
That gate seems to belong to the Stone Summit and leads to their underground caves.
