Has anyone else gotten this problem before? I have once or twice but after a short time of trying to log in, the game would automatically rebuild its resource database and I could get back in. Does anyone know how to force the game to do that or think of any other problems causing it?
Note I haven't changed my security or gotten a new firewall since the last time it worked.

This is more a shot in the dark, but are you going into stand-by mode immediately after you exit the client at any time? On two occasions I found that after coming out of stand-by and trying to connect I needed to rebuild the database. Since then I've just waited about 5-10 seconds before going into stand-by after exiting the client and it hasn't done it again. Of course there's probably countless other things that could be causing this too. ><

Nah, I don't use standby mode. But thanks for the tip.

Everytime there is a GW update the file info changes slightly and my fire blocks it untill I allow it to pass thru. Until I do that it stays at 0%, so check your firewall

Chances are you can resolve it by doing the following if not idk.
Go into start..go to run...type in.... /msconfig....select "selective startup"...
go under the tab "services"...check the box saying " Hide all microsoft services"...then click disable all....then go into the "start-up" tab and hit disable all...then hit ok...and it will ask to restart ur comp...try that if it works then there is some new issue you in your computer and if doesnt work when u restart your computer go back into msconfig and select normal start up and restart and itll be back to normal

Thanks Stoppre, that worked. Turns out it was one of the symantic files in the services tab so I guess a recent update is giving me trouble.
