For everyone as unlucky as me, I'd reccomend you just sell your Lunar Tokens - I mean, would you rather realize you wasted your weekend to get a ton of fireworks or would you like to make a tidy sum out of it?
Also, from the luck people have here, I'm HOPING that people will give these away like they did with mini pigs last year...I hope...

Got it. Final character, final token. I had given up EVER getting one. Then some giant celestial rat jumped in front of me and gave me it.

I think there might be a pattern - it seems to me that you should open your Lunar Fortunes slowly - like all your fortunes will reveal the same thing, and X seconds later on, they will switch to revealing something else. Because whenever I open my fortunes, it's like:

Money
Perhaps pausing between fortunes would work best - this could be like the Yoshi colors in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, in that it's real time. Just a theory though.
Anyway, back on topic, netted myself a total of 16k from all the 100g's from the fortunes and the effort of one new Factions character acquiring 75 tokens.
And that is with me wasting all my previous Tokens on firework-fortunes. Yeah, I think selling is better.

I did the quests.
I acquired 125 lunar tokens.
I traded them for 41 lunar fortunes.
I got no rats out of the 41 fortunes.
I repeated all of the above on my Ranger, my Assassin, my Warrior, and even did Fire in the Sky, The Big Bang, and Hapless Romance on three new Factions characters (meaning another 225 tokens total) by levelling them to lvl 5 with the secondary profession quests.
No rat.
I acquired 125 lunar tokens.

Gathered a few more fortunes from red gift bags, stepped outside to open them, and got a rat at the end. Whee!
It's windy here today. Our power went out before I could grab it. NOOOOOO!!! Eventually, the juice came back before my reconnect chance wore out. I was so freaked for about three minutes.
The random effect bonuses are cool, but I'd be much happier if the items went directly to inventory rather than dropping on the ground. That was scary!
As for my results, I did as many of the quests as I could reasonably get to on my nine workable characters. I've opened about 450-500 fortunes. That was my second rat.
Three other guildies have been doing the same thing. Two of them got one rat out of about 300 and maybe 200 fortunes. The third has yet to get a rat, so I'm very glad to have a spare for him.

Well I have had a rather busy weekend and only had time to try with 2 of my characters no mini rat. This is stupid, again arena net rewards those who spend the entire weekend on the game and those with little time get screwed.

I feel your pain. I haven't got a rat and I have opened who knows how many fortunes... guess some people just have amazing luck and others, like us, don't.

I got a rat in 30 fortunes, but then my best friend and I wasted about 600 or so fortunes between us looking for one for her. She never got a rat and is so pissed she doesn't even really want the second one I got. :-\

Sorry but your QQ'ing privileges have been revoked. manitoba has opened twice as many as you and isn't complaining about it near as much.
On a serious note, yes it sucks that some people have got a rat in their first 30 or what not but it's not a big deal. An unded rat is going for 20k, not a large chunk of money these days. Really it's not a huge deal.
@Arknow, I agree somewhat. I would of loved to have seen a new mask this year but I sort of understand why they kept it the same. Still would of loved to have seen it changed just a bit.

Out of 243 fortunes in total I got my starry rodent on the 185 fortune.
That was with 5 chars trading the tokens in for fortunes.
In the end I got it with my necro who had everything dyed red and was wearing the Lion mask at the time
