Expansion Pack - Skill only
NoXiFy
Anet recently made some polls on guru and asked what people would buy for guildwars (mugs, t-shirts, mice, etc...).
Lets say there are no more expansions to guildwars...
But anet decides to make a 'skill' expansion. It would probaly be something like 250 skills that you get when you buy the pack. They would all be new skills, and they made it something like "15 skills per profession, 10 elites per profession" and they sold this pack for lets say... $10 USD.
The question isn't if they would ever make one... but if they DID, would you buy it?
I think the idea would be great... mainly for anet who would reap in cash for not having to do much. It would also be cool if they added some of the skills in the sugesstions forum and such. Or, they could have a contest and the top 10 skills made by GW players recieve a prize (minipet or something)

no cuz they make it overpowered to get us and then nerf month later

Not balanced for PvP = never happen
dubiel005
i myself would hav to pass on this. i switched from playing gw daily to every once in a while. so i could not see myself buying extra skills.

Not a chance. Still, when they do nerf it and people complain about how they paid real money for it, that thread will be one hell of a read.
freaky naughty
Way unbalanced, and once those skills are nerfed people will be hanging themselves with grief for buying them.

you would buy it and just have all skills unlocked? that would make it way too easy to start new chat with 10 elite skills availible + so many other skills if elites wouldnt be unlocked you would have to cap it... which would require new boss... and bosses are accessible for all players... it would just mess everything up^^

Well, they'd OBVIOUSLY still be balanced and stuff. Or they'd at least try to make it so.
Malice Black
Unless the skills were available to PvP chars from the offset, it just isn't feasible.
Remember, most skill balances are made due to PvP. Some skills get buffed/nerfed because of PvE, but not many.
The only viable solution would be to make them like the current PvE skills.

Because the OP date isn't exactly what I would call recent. 4-06-2007

I would like some more bling and some new area to open up on the current maps. I wonder if some GW customers that know how mod could make some new content and of course be finalized by Anet.
1 up and 2 down
Why do you think they didn't add very many PvP "legal" skills? It's because there are so many skills ingame already that it was getting hard to try to balance them all. So its not going to happen, hell would probably freeze over before they released an expansion like that.
Nevin
They'd sell it for 30-40 dollars.. Not 10 USD.
Skyy High
They're moving to GW2 partly because GW is so bloated with skills as-is right now. Adding more skills? Not happening.
Lord Sojar
No, GW1 has enough skills, too many in fact. Everyone complains that Izzy is bad at balancing, but you have to remember that if he changes one skill, that skill might then synergize with 20 others through some freakish combo, and become IMBA. Izzy does a great job if you really think about it, with all the skills he has to think about. Some nerfs might be a bit harsh here and there, but in the end, who cares? The buffs mix things up.
We don't need more skills, we need less.
We don't need more skills, we need less.
Winterclaw
What we really need is to toss all the skills out of the window and start from scratch. I mean what good is more skills or less if the skills are still fundementally messed up as a group. If they did delete some skills a ton of them would have to get tossed out and then you'd have everyone complaining about lost money and skill points.
And we need Anet to give Izzy some help.

They should just add more titles. Skills require fore-thought, balancing, testing, art, animations, ..... And then, people develop new meta-game in 2 hours and start crying for nerfs.
Titles on the other hand take a few hours to create and keep masses busy for months.

Witchblade
nope, those skills would be overpowered to make ppl buy the exp then most of them will get a nerf.
there are enough skills in this game already
if something should be added it's game content: quests, areas, npcs...
go play MTG

I would buy it.
It adds more strategy to the game and stuff.
In fact.I love this idea.
Some professions need more skills anyways.
As long as they don't make the skills useless, I don't mind nerfs.
Some skills in EN got nerfed and that was an expansion. You dont see people screaming at anet that much.
Maybe they should make some of the skills pve only.

Anet should just add new places for us to play in. Like Surrows Furance something like that sort in NF or Canthan.
Healers Wisper
Naw I wwant more playable areas More then skills.

They could always just sort out the big steaming pile of garbage skills and invigorate play styles without creating new skills.

At least, a new batch of paragon and dervish skills is probably needed, since they've got considerably fewer than everybody else...

I want more overpowered skills like SY and TINTF to my paragon arsenal for more insta-god mode
While were at it, we could also give more spear skills to a weapon that is already superior to everything else in attack speed, range, and stats
plol
I seriously hope they make it though.

I like skills. They are like puzzle pieces to play with.
I would buy the expansion even if the skills in it were only available for a certain new type of PvP.

As for the expansion pack, I'd prefer playable areas to skills.

NO
I never liked the idea of splitting up skills with each pack
From a business point of view A.NET LOVES doing this - WE"RE FORCED to buy these new skills to compete in PVP if we want to get involved in group PVP where our team mates require us to run certain builds...My cousin who doesn't own EOTN got booted out of a Heroes Ascent group because he was missing one skill....
I hate that..
I hope guild wars 2 DOES NOT split up these skills with each expansion pack but make them readily available FOR EVERYONE and find other means of enticing players to buy the next expansion/campaign whatever...

I don't want a new skill pack, but I would buy it if it came out only because I have to to PvP. "I don't have that, I haven't bought the game yet" is an easy way to get kicked out of the group or at least moved to a new character.

Since GW2 is going to have unlimited levels I am looking forward to skills by LEVEL in it. Thus those that can play 24/7 will have more skills than those that can play only a couple of hours a day or less.

We've got too many skills as it is. If I were going to buy something i'd rather it be something purely cosmetic that doesn't affect gameplay at all, like new armour set unlock packs or something.
