Here are some questions that help me out when I am making a new character and having trouble figuring out a good name that would fit!

1) What do you think this charcter will be doing?

2) What are some common objects that your chacracter will be associated with?

3) Where is your character going to be born (eg. Elona/Cantha/Tyria)?

4) Why do you like this class/continent?

5) What are some cool facial/head features that your character has?

Hope this helped ^^

As long as it has nothing to do with the grim reaper, you're good.

lol, I am pretty sure that all of the names associated with the grim reaper are taken already ^^

EDIT: Yea, searching for names for the specific region is a great idea as well =D

Yeah, Persian, or Egyptian names are awesome base lines for Elonia characters

The problem with exotic names is u can end up regretting them half way through the campaign. Stick with something that is sober and something that you can relate to in RL. I get lost a lot so misguiding suited me. [I always get lost in Kaineng lol]

I'd avoid the word reaper like others have said also try and avoid names like Scythe U Dead. When I see names like that...just grr.

Scythe of Phallus seems like a good choice. Or Phallic Derv

I don't use my PvP dervish anymore, so you may have his name:

Make it personal imo. I always try to keep "dan" somewhere in the name. People calling me Abubakar doesn't feel right.

I normally pick names with cultural significance, (as others have already suggested) but my guild also has a naming convention joke, which helps when I'm stumped.

We were heavily influenced by Terry Pratchett's book Good Omens, and his band of Lesser Horsemen, who all named themselves after things that they hated.
(for example, my personal favorites: Grievous Bodily Harm, Standing in Fish or Answering Machines...)

We all made characters based on things we hate. My warrior is named Computers That Die (because 'Motherboards That Fry a Week After I Install GW' didn't fit...)

Hope that helps!
