I am currently an elementalist using fire....however the Destroyers are immune to fire spells....what would be a good element to change to in order to make killing them more effective in the last two missions? Thanks!

Air is always good. There's some good builds in the ele section using Invoke or blinding surge.

TBH air packs pretty much similar damage and blind and cracked armor in masse imo is worth more than the snare that water provides. Snare is bad in PVE and the water damage isn't much at all.

Go air, that's what I did. Most air spells, while they don't provide the aoe damage that fire spells do, can do a lot of damage to one target (especially with the armor penetration most have) You can also bring blinding surge to blind the melee destroyers, stay away from the ones that cause exhasution tho since you'll likely be spamming them and you don't want to exhaust yourself into uselessness. And while they resist fire damage, they're only immune to burning so feel free to throw in some fire aoe spells that cause damage but don't rely on burning (works better on stationary destroyers)

I've been through those end missions a few times, using water-based builds and air, and I have to say, Air was the most satisfying.

Destroyers (and Kathandrax Dungeon...ugh) reminded me how much I like the Air line... though I do throw in a water hex or two, for utility/variety.

Thanks...I think I may go air then.

OR...perhaps since I am a Necro secondary right now I could go Necro and use those skills...would that be effective???

Use Alkar's Alchemical Acid for a little extra damage.

I agree that having someone with Winter (Ranger primary or seconday) works well with a Fire Ele. The Ranger(s) kept Winter "on" for most of the run and the Fire Ele used the AOE effects. GWicki also mentioned the skill Pain Inverter - two of us equipped that against the Great Destroyer, and if you can time it for his "attacks" it has good effect.

At the risk of sounding like a wimp, we also took Resurrection Scrolls and Powerstones of Courage - much faster to raise the whole party and wipe out any DP.

To the op Destroyers have a resistance to Fire - they still take damage from Fire damage. I would suggest just spec for a general Air or Water magic build.

Best way to do take out destroyers is as follows:

1. Take 1 blinding epidemic air ele
2. Take 2 necros with Spiteful spirit / enfeebling blood / descrate/define enchantments etc
3. Take 2-3 monks, or 2 monks, 1 para (all henchies)
4. Take 1 blood necro (Eve)

Hey guys,
Just an update...I switched to a combo Air/water skill set. Used Elemental Attunement to keep my energy up and Aura of Restoration and then just whacked away. I died once when I got surrounded by Destroyers, but I was resurrected and we went on to beat both of the final missions as a group.
YAY...I had saved enough cash to buy my first EotN armor!
Thanks for all the suggestions...appreciated!

Destroyers are immune to burning, not fire damage.
