I just got my 1st Lion mask yesterday, and i see alot of people wearing dragon masks. Is the Dragon festival a different event, or was the dragon festival the first Canthan new year?
And is there a possible chance of getting a dragon mask again?

dragon mask was from the first year factions came out.

Different event called the dragon festival. The dragon mask was only available in the dragon festival 2006, dragon festival 2007 was the demon mask.

Dragon Festival 2006 - Celebrated the release of Factions, rewarded the Dragon Mask.

Dragon Festival 2007 - Different event somewhat, gave out Demon Masks.

Dragon Festival 2007 Redux - Same thing as 2007.

The first year the Dragon Festival started on July 5, and July 6 the next year. So it should be coming early July this year too, most likely a new mask though.

Demon was alot better looking than Dragon Mask. Not as cool as the Huge New year Mask that huge Chinease Dragon Mask that awsome looking. Makes you look like you have huge head.

was there a certain level that your char has to be in order to participate?
I recall that there was a lvl restriction, just can't remember at what level.
anyone know?

you are talking about the same mask when you say Dragon mask/Huge New year Mask that huge Chinease Dragon Mask just thought id point it out.

There was a lvl restriction added for the quests to prevent someone from remaking characters to take the quest and farm it for its rewards. But I'm not sure if that was for the Dragon Fest, or some other recent event. My memory is spotty.

It was Canthan New Year. Though they could do the same to the Dragon Festival this year.

Huge New Year Mask = Lion Mask
Dyeable Dragon Head = Dragon Mask

The Dragon festival always corisponds to the American Holiday, Fourth of July weekend (there are some minor subtle similarilties, notable the use of fireworks). So, you got another 2 months to go. The dragon mask was the first dragon festival. The second dragon festival had the demon mask. There is no way to know what will happen this year.
