Character pick...

alright, its me again. I'm having trouble picking a profession. Since I am getting nightfall, assasin is out of the picture. I am wondering what you would choose for your first character. I want a caster, something that is easy enough to get me interested in the game. If you could list a profession, and state why, that would be great, thanks.

elementalist or necromancer for caster is fun. I like ele's because of the sheer damage but necro is nice because there's so much you can do.

Admittedly, I am a bit biased, here, but I would pick elementalist as a starting class. (yes, it was my first class too.. hence my bias)

I think, for a person learning GW, who wants a caster class, Ele provides a large range of spells with *less* of a learning curve, allowing the player a chance to learn the mechanics of the game without getting overwhelmed.

(IMHO, playing a Mesmer (for example) requires a certain amount of game knowledge to pull off correctly)

if you want a caster and want to do damage...then elementalist (yeah my first character as well)....if you want to 'feel good' about what you do then monk.
However, ele is the easiest to do and learn the game doing.

elementalist is probably the easiest starting caster class. I'd go with that.

i agree with all these people, elementalists can do huge damage, and on top of that all you have to do is button mash! how much better can it get?
