There has never been anything special about the last-final event. The "finale" is the visit from the rat every 3 hours. The "something different" is the crate of fireworks.

I assume so. Considering it is a Sunday here, and I have a life to tend to on Mondays, I cannot afford to stay up till 3AM - nor can I go afk as DVDF posts their districts 15 mins before each finale.

Well she probably meant the crate, as these events never have a real, different finale other than the repeated ones we get every 3 hours (or less or more).
Gaile gave a reason for that back in the day too; roughly about how the server doesn't get closed after the event (unlike BWEs which all had real finale) so it doesn't make sense to have such thing.

I do understand why people are a little ticked, I mean if nothing was said people would be fine with what was given.
I actually made 50K on this event so I can't complain, however the use of last years mask was a small dissapointment.

There has never been a special drop for the last "final event" for any festival. In this case, the last feast / rat appearance will be exactly the same as every other event. When she said "final event" she was talking about the feast/rat visit that occurs every 3 hours.

Some people will like the fireworks crate. But to others, it's nothing more than 3 party animal points. And that's why some people are disappointed in it. Rather than farm all the ingredients which would get 15 points(5 crates), it would probably be better to just solo farm the Dragon's Nest game to get tokens to use to get fortunes and bags for items for points.
Of course guilds and alliances can make a team effort in gathering up the ingredients. While it may save time, there's more work in organizing it merely, in many people's view, for a whopping 15 party animal points and some gift bags.

And honestly that's probably why they kept it at 3 points - so it doesn't become a "zone and double-click" operation like so many other things. Obviously it's worth more than your average sparkler, so they gave us three points.

Some may if they actually have a guild or alliance that gathers in guild hall parties. But I'm sure only a small portion of people with crates will actually do that. And I'm guessing most just see it as 3 points.

I just meant comparatively; you have a sparkler which lasts for 30(?) seconds and gives one point, or a massive firework display which lasts ten minutes and gives three. I believe three points is good to keep the title hounds from buying up hundreds of crates when it should be, exactly as you said, a good group reward for guilds.

i was in a DVDF district and we didnt get anything special, unless you get it after the rat leaves. we just got the normal 5 creates/16bag/lion mask so far at least

Just to quash a few more rumors.
There is no membership fee, never was never will be
We do not buy our officers FoW(bet they wish we did)
We do not select membership based on number of titles.
We are not a mesmer only guild, we just make sure we dont exclude mesmers and other professions in teams
And just because you apply on the website does'nt mean you get in automatically.
Still I wish the fees was even a little true, I could do with the back pay

I really liked the end gifts, it made a nice change from mini pets. They dont go for huge money and loads of other people can enjoy them. It's a shame they are soon used up but the amounts people got meant lots of fireworks for hours to come.
