Please make the Games of Chance (not the rings, the rock paper scissors guy who appears in LA during some events) NPC available year round. Title aside, it's a fun way to spend time while chatting with folks in Alliance Chat. (Although making the rings available would also be awesome.) Enable me to climb the Gamer title track!

I agree, I tend to do things daily and consistently (eg. 4 UW runs/day OR FoW Clear)

Having an NPC that I could go to when I am finished and afk for the title with the money I got from these things would be absolutely wonderful. Updates to the lucky title have been thrown in to make it achievable without the events but I am also wondering if any updates for the unlucky title have been put in? If not I think that this would be the most logical next step in making the titles accesible outside of the events.

Just got hapless!
Hurray!

Hope this contributed to the conversation ^^

The positives leaving the games open:
- Even with the updates, the nie rings is still much faster towards both titles than any other method.
- Nine rings is also a huge goldsink, I've already spent about 150k this weekend.
- Some people won't be able to get on during the weekend the events are on, thus missing out.

So /signed.

However there are a few easily fixed problems with this:
- Large numbers of people AFKing cause a lot of lag in Shing Jea. Solution: Put the rings in a separate outpost so that the lag only hits people playing.
- Because the boardwalk is Factions only it gives a massive advantage to people owning that chapter. Solution: Make the games accessible to everyone, which should be easy if they are in a new outpost (maybe somewhere on the battle isles).
- Giving prizes all year round doesn't feel right. Solution: Remove the ticket reward NPC when there isn't a festival on.

Yea, removing the ticket NPC is definitely a must. Another change that I would like to see happen regarding the games is if they were offered for other holidays, perhaps have a carnival etc. on battle isles? (Not one of the creepy ones with killer clowns ^_^)

Anyone found a way to increase the unlucky title track outside of new years?

Ohh and btw /signed =D

On average, you get ~3500 lucky and ~250 unlucky points an hour. Chest running in normal mode (with say a 60% retention rate) will net you about 40 chests, 24 saved (6000 lucky) and 16 broken (400 unlucky). But it's definitely much better when you're just chatting.

Ahhhh, thank you for finally posting something regarding unlucky in PvE.
I really should have known that but I never have watched my unlucky title track go up when I use LPs, just lucky ^_^

But if it was available year-round, than the already lack-laster events would feel even less special.

I don't think they (Anet) want us to be able to get lucky so easily, lets compare lucky with sweet tooth:

Lucky: Account wide
Sweet Tooth: Single character

Lucky: Costs 2.2 Million gold using Nine Rings, less if you open chests, which is also working towards another 2 titles in itself.
Sweet Tooth: Costs 2 Million gold

Lucky: Provides lockpick retention rate bonuses to whole account
Sweet Tooth: No effects

So seeing the huge 'advantage' Lucky has over sweet tooth (and party animal, and drunkard) I can see why they wouldn't make it something that can be done year round. Maybe open it up for more events though.

I'd love to see the boardwalk opened more often, but again maybe not all the time.

I hit 490,000 tickets during the last boardwalk event and had that ARRRGHH sooo close moment when it shut down. I edged up to 500k with lockpicks and started this past weekend with 506k in tickets and just at the edge of tier 4 lucky.

This morning after a long weekend of partying on the rings and participating in the various mini-games available i had 684,000 tickets. The rings were still open when I left for work this morning so i bought a few more tickets and left the game running. I hope to break 700k before the boardwalk shuts down.

At this rate, I'll need 2 more boardwalk events to reach tier 5. I don't even want to think about the grind needed for tier 6. (And I really really hope there isn't a tier 7)

Absolutely...I'm definitely not in favor of making "festival" events available year round.

Would definitely like to see it more often, maybe monthly or quarterly. Correct me if I am wrong, but we just went past the 3rd weekend when it was open.

Good idea, but all the time is probably too much.

minigames should be playable whenever players want to do so, for a small gold fee

there is NOTHING special about them at all... the events are not only the minigames >.>
An event consists of more, than only 1 or 2 playable minigames, don't forget that

and when you get ever and ever again the same minigames for several year, they get also uninterestign after a while and will be not anyhow special anymore. A Minigame is only so long special, when playing it first time, seein it first time, after having played a minigame several times up to countless times, there will be absolutely nothign special about it anymore
Anyone, who tells somethign else, lies imo. to cover his/her real reason, why they don't want to see minigames perma playable..

and this real reason is quite simple to guess ...

it is selfishness, as usual and typically, as ever.
People, which reached quite a certain middle high rank by time now, via playing countless of rbr races, ect. and imagine into this title a "value", where absolutely is NO value at all, juts their personal value to it, which lets them become so selfish, that they grant others absolutely not the slightest shit, even when it goes about character based titles, which would let benefit all their other non main char characters also too, improving the gameplay by making GW again more multi character friendly, as GW was before the implementation of titles with factions.

Those selfish people just ignore all those good arguments, you talk there like with walls, for these people is just important, that nothing will hurt their personal so high valued titles, they gained with their main chars only and force others with their mentality to have to waste the same time they've wasted for something, only because they wan't not to accept, that it will be better for the gameplay of GW, when it goes back more again to it's roots and becomes again more multi character friendly.

titles are one big reason, which destroyed this, because most ones are only too bad concepted grind/gold sink titles, which take ages to get maxed with 1 signle character....those grind/gold sink titles are so bad concepted by being character based, that players simple have not the time, to make those titles with more than 1 single character.

I personally have never met yet 1 players, that has more than 1 character, which has KoaBD R1 at least or R2...no, because those titles are somewhat of time consuming, that like 90% surely of the community concentrates only on playing 1 main character for title collecting and MORE NOT

As long this will not change, all titles can become theoretically direct all account based, because it would be the absolute best solution to multi character friendly gameplay, where it will be no waste of time to play with other characters other than your main char. >.<

the title system was and is from the begin on sicne implementation with factions one of anets biggest fails

I'm guessing above post is a big "NO" on anything to do with titles?

Dragon Arena is really the only place i have fun left in gw. I want to play it all the time! And just because you may not want to play it year round, doesn't mean it shouldn't be available, just that you don't play it year around.

I wouldn't even mind if they took away the rewards for it (though the faction is nice). Anyone who doesn't want a mini game with no rewards open constantly is being selfish.

To clarify my above post, I have nothing against year round games, in fact I would really like it, seeing how I still need 1 mil lucky points. I was just supplying the probable reason why Anet will not implement this.

...Wait, what?

Title aside, we get a bunch of AFKers in a town that creates lag all over the place for no good reason.

Hmm... Okay, to clarify my OP, I just want to play rock paper scissors for gamer title points at that NPC in LA who crops up during some events (in this case, the Canthan New Year)

I've given up on the Luck titles. I'm nearly R5 in both (like I need 10 minutes with the rings for r5 in both) and have stood on those rings every hour of their availability except for this past Canthan New Year. These titles are not realistically attainable.

Gamer, on the other hand, well, nvm. It probably isn't realistically attainable either. But I'd like to replace my "I'm Very Important" title with "Numchuk Skillz", earning that rank of gamer title while chatting with my guildies instead of loitering around LA doing nothing.

Rock Paper Scissors FTW when you're thinking about another GW title grind FTL!

Give me r/p/s or give me... well, give me something else new in the way of content to keep me playing because I really don't feel like paying $15 a month to chat with ppl in Eve Online while mining asteroids.
