Top 100 gets... Greased Lightning minis! (again)

People complained about it last year as well and nothing was done about it so e-mailing them won't do much good. See here and here for more details.

They'll drop in a month or two. Once the big spenders have theirs, price will go lower.

Like i said in one of my earlier posts, they wouldent be bothered to fix this issue, ecpecially since so many people spent literally all weekend playing that racing game so they can KEEP that minipet because they love it, honestly why would they care about there own customers? 'rolls eyes'

Last year people sold them for ~250 ecto first week , 2 months later they were around 600-700. and lately beetles are 1500+xx arms . just like every other rare mini the price will constatly go up

Not to shout the whole greedy thing, but why does everyone want recognition of NOT making the top 100? The people who mutiple top 100 scored earned it (hopefully), and they get skunked by not getting multiple minis. That to me makes sense, but why would the list ship down until 100 minis were given. You didn't earn a top 100 spot, someone with less of a life and better "twich" reflexes who remembered the course like their mothers teet as a baby did multiple times.

Don't be such an ignorant fool. To use this analogy, If I run a race and get first place, does that mean I'm also entitled to second? How about third? Or let's just go with thirtieth? Well, why not right? I mean my time was better than those people so clearly I deserve their place as well by your logic correct? Of course not. If someone made it onto the top 100 list then they have already proven they are good enough to be on that list. Meaning, any other entries that person gets on that list is just stealing slots from other people. It's supposed to be a top 100 racers list, not a list of 100 slots that can be filled by anyone (which is what it turned in to) . I'm guessing you were nowhere near the top 100 anyway, which is why you would make such a stupid statement.

There's two ways to look at the top 100. You can view it as the high score list, and you can view it as the top 100 players. Personally i think it should be the top 100 players. I don't need to go onto a list and see that one guy has posted 50 times, for me to say wow he's good at this. I don't even need to see two times. I need one. Whether it was luck or skill, or both doesn't matter in my eyes, as a top score is a top score.

The extreme example of this is if one guy managed to post the top 100 times, is that a fair representation of the scores? Should only he be rewarded with the prize because he claimed all 100 spots on the chart? No all that means is he just played the sh!t out of RBR.

So in my opinion I'd rather go on and see the top 100 racers, and accordingly their personal high scores. I raced with a few people who posted top 100 times. Some didn't get lucky and just stopped in the cave. Others kept racing and posted times. One guy got a decent run, and posted a decent time, not quite top 100 worthy, because i didn't KD him. Those i raced with frequently i wanted to race a fair race, and race for skill. If they got out in the lead, i wouldn't screw up a potential record/non-record run, just out of spite, in hopes maybe if i got the same run, they wouldn't kd me.

RBR was by no means hard to win. Complete nubs racing for 3rd and 4rth place, people KD chaining the leader out of spite with no chance to win, lack of comprehension of the course and skills, etc etc, were every where. I'm not saying I'm awesome, but i'm not bad. As well, as i may not have ended up with a top 100 time, but i wasn't that far off on several runs. I raced for fun and to see my skill against other players, and i took note of several of the names on the top 100 list, hoping by chance to play them.

But hey thats my take on the top 100 list. Anet apparently thought that it should be just the top 100 scores, and for that only they only once again gave out less than half of the amount of mini pets possible.

With the top 100 list, only allowing one score per account, it would only give more people prizes. It wouldn't take the prizes away from anyone, so you can't complain there. All it would do is actually award 100 prizes like the event was intended to. Why do you think they had to change it to one prize per account? BECAUSE THEY SCREWED UP! and didn't want to let several people monopolize the economy on the mini pet by earning multiples.

But whatever, half the time, its like talking to a wall on here, some people just don't get it.

Nicely said, and I would also like to point out that the rewards NPC actually says "will give a special reward to the top 100 fastest RACERS" By the wording that Anet themselves put in the game, 100 prizes SHOULD have been awarded but weren't.

Well this is just like winning a championship and taking gold, silver and bronze medal!

And god dammit people are buying them for 1500 ectos! Thats a lot of gold, how the hell does these people get these much ectos?!

Why would people be so pissed if people got multiple? That only means more supply, which would decrease the price a bit....

If I had 50 rollerbeetles and the rest of the game population had 50 combined, I think I would be able to sell for whatever price I want. If people get multiple then they can monopolize it and make a fortune. Even if I sold at 1000 ectos each thats still 50000 ectos.

Yes, multiple rare items should not be awarded. If it was a prize like a consumable or something, then multiples would be ok but not a rare mini.

Most damning of all is the NPC dialog. Sorry Anet, but I'm not even surprised your own NPC's make liars of you anymore. GG once again, and GL with the whole GW2 thing....

I'm going to have a good laugh if by next year they FIX the npc to say top 100 scores. So what now? People who don't get top 100 scores will still not get a beetle so nothing much changes... I wonder if people will still complain then.

It's not like people are complaining about the fact that "OMG the NPC LIED!!!". It's that clearly it was intended for the top 100 racers to receive prizes and due to technical issues on Anet's end (which they had a year to fix, no excuses) many people are getting screwed out of the prizes they earned. I respect you for earning your prize but don't be just an *** to those who just missed it because of a faulty system. If I recall correctly, you could have just barely been bumped off the list as well, how would you feel then?

Grind more races so you can fill up more spots and stop people from getting minis.
