So my guild is trying to put together our own all paragon team (I would like to see us get some action outside of FoW), and so far we have a good team setup, but alas our last run was cut short when one of our griffons unexpectedly went to griffon heaven.
So we got to talking about ways to counteract this, and this naturally led to how does shouts/chants affect NPCs? Specifically, those not listed as Allies on the party window.
From experience with Rastigan (and other NPCs listed in the party window) I know that shouts and chants affect him (or so it seems), but we're not sure about NPCs such as those cute little griffons.
Anyone know how shouts affect NPCs not listed in the party window?
Thanks!

I don't think anything you do effects them. My hero's minions do not seem to reap the rewards from my shouts, most noticable is the health gain from TNtF. Although, I may be wrong.

If it says ally, it should affect every green dot on the map.
If it says party member, it just hits the party members.
However I know the text on some skills is wrong like The Power Is Yours! because it will hit NPCs even though it says party members. Basically you'd have to individually test each skill to find out how each functions.

Leave them behind until you've cleared the path? Or if they move early since I know it does happen on occasion leave one person behind until the path is clear.

So if we leave one person behind, then the griffons should stay there?
And thanks guys for the infos on shouts and chants!

Once you've gone near them (they should start stationary) they'll follow whoever is moving. Move the whole party up just before the first mob of skeletons that appear, have all but one person stand still, and have one person lead them back off the radar. They'll only follow who is moving on radar.

Thanks! I'll give a couple of these suggestions a shot and see how they go.
