How to Fix the broken economy of GW

Hey, seriously how do you fix the broken economy of GW?

IMO, they should cut back the drop rate of ectos would be a good start.
like maybe .0001%. make them really "rare" crafting material.
to discourage those 24/7 bot UW farmer. MAKE EM REALLY RARE!!!! rarer than eternal swords!

add new uses for ectos so people can use them. wats the use of ectos if you have all fow armor for all your 30 chars?

if ectos have no use other than fow, then a.net really meant them for trading...

also, cutting back on all gold drops and removing all the inscriptions.

make dyes hard to get too, and remember the days when runes were rare as hell?

make em rare too!@@%@%^#

and lastly, customize the drop for zaishen, that should stop probably half the items in the High-end section.

In for those ready to say that "o GW is for casual players", a collector with decent skin, perfect weapons should be available for cheap, or just green items.
traders make the economy roll not the casual players, what do they care?
and if they do? they are not consider casual anymore.

Making drops even rarer = /ragequit from the fanbase.

Hmm, you sound like on of those who has a couple of stacks of ectos in storage.

Seriously, with all the gold sinks in the game, if you have nothing left to spend money on, move on to another game.

GG you, you're rich. Well done you. It's actually harder to get rich now than it was before factions came out, so nerfing the ecto drop rate would only exacerbate that. And the goldsink titles really are that. 146k before the New Year event, 20k after, all on the lucky title.

Oh and ps, Chaos gloves require 70e, so there is 1 more ecto-sink right there.

And if you have FOW for all your chars, again, well done. But, how many hours did you spend getting it? Having played that many hours, don't you think you've had your value for money from the game? Not all of us have that much time, and the amount of "elite" stuff in the game already severely penalizes the casual player.

Sorry but you can't turn back the clock. The economy has been broken since release and will never be set straight.

Merchant pricing is one of the things that led to its downfall. By giving gold items so low a value at merchants players were forced to sell everything to other players untill the market was so saturated with max dmg and perfect mods that nothing except the ultra rare has any value at all any more.

GW should have had some sort of upkeep costs right from the beginning. That'll mean that people do not have as much spare cash sitting around.

And so Anet need not constantly come up with schemes to deflate the market, so that it remains affordable to new players.

Even simple upkeep items like Salvage and ID kits are free with tokens, add to that the fact that collector weapons are so easy to get. No wonder the economy is out of wack. Imagine if everyone did not need to pay rent and got free food and free cars, and still got paid the same. Hell yeah I want diamond encrusted underoos!

I don't know why Anet doesn't instantly ban people who carry stacks of armbraces, or at least remove the stacks. Should be easy to search for them and nuke their arses to oblivion.

That would cause people to quit real quick and would serve to show every single player that anet will screw them over if they want, which would kill the fanbase, the game and anets future plans for making money off games.

I bought an armbrace from a guy today. He was selling lots of them and selling them cheap! Huh... must be a dupper

The people who damaged the economy the most (anet excluded) are the dupers... having thousands of armbraces is ridiculous.

How will these suggestions help the "broken economy"?

You suggest making rare things even more rare...This will make those of us with ecto etc. "richer", and those without "poorer", how does that help? That makes it harder to get "wealth", increasing the gulf between rich and poor. Solves nothing about the economy at all.

Unless your point is in fact to make whatever "wealth" you have worth more. Is that where this is going? I am trying to see logic in your ideas, and that's the only direction it seems to go.

2nd an economy is stronger when everyone strives to be better, e.g. getting rich, not that everybody is equal. then it would be more like a communist country.

competition among players to get "rare" items would not only motivate them to play the game, not farming, remove those too, but would also be good for the economy?
why? if you look at the US and russia (capitalist state and communist state)
big difference is in the US, competition is fierce, it makes the weak weaker, the strong, stronger, whereas in russia, where everyone is equal, competition is eliminated thus suppressing the economy and maintaining a sub-par economy.

without rare items to get? what should i go for now (btw i dont have stacks of stacks of ectos, only got a few, but have managed to find good drops thru missions and quests that i am willin to sell or trade if something comes up i feel is good.)

doesnt take a genius to know that a good economy have to "key players"
the uber rich- who tries to be more uber rich
the normal people- who tries to be uber rich
the poor people- whos just happy to be alive.

actually making it take more time to get the crappy skins would just result in higher prices. nothing would change in that respect.

I just wanna have fun, i don't care about impressing people, especially people i don't know. I am not shallow. That doesnt mean i would not like to get the nice items for my own joy. making it harder or longer to get them would just make this game suck even more than it currently does. Some of us, like myself are not willing to sacrifice their lives so we can be the "top dog" on a game.

I am especially sick of people bragging about some item they have like we should all bow down to them. Seems like your trolling. Your idea wouldnt work. it would only speed the death of GW along and make fans worry about how GW2 is going to be handled.

I'm suprised no ones in here defending themselves with all these allegations of duping and stacks of arms saying YEA W/E JUST CUZ IM PRO DOESNT MEAN SHIT! But w/e, the guru economy is gone, you'd need to make a huge huge cash sink like ummm.... Gold buys you things that last a long time and make you look good. Oh wait they already did that .. TITTLEs. Economy is gone all they can do is make it a little better.
