Usually, young people have to struggle with it. Sad thing is, many adults have never learned to deal and reconcile with boredom, and are in a constant "rolling stone" mode, never having roots, nor having done anything worth the while, like showing lots of motion but no direction. I have the feeling, boredom is what screws up many young rich people who seems to have it all.
Boredom is natural result of doing things, like breathing producing carbon. You can't escape it, you just deal with it.
What do you think in life, in-game and real, that would not bore you? A pound-stake every night? A job where you do nothing but sleep? A job where you get to play all games all day for all year?
Working is a bore. Studying is a bore. I wish I'm older. I wish I was young again.

There was this poem that talks about a man who saw a great golden orb up in the mountain. He started up for the great golden orb, climbing up the rocks in the heat and against the wind, when he reached the top, it turns out to be a big ball of mud. He sighed and went down the mountain. At the foot of the mountain, he looked up oncemore, and saw it was great golden orb again.
Point is, to deal with boredom, the easiest solution is to take a rest from what you're doing.
Or take stock of what you're doing and where you are, decide to change your view on it, which is a process. And I'm not just talking about games.
Yeah, it's cheesy and cliches to say these things. But then a lot of good things are considered sappy by a generation projecting a cool, rebellious persona. But then, which generation hasn't?

To the OP: If you arn't just stoking a flamewar for fun, then there are some very good suggestions in the previous posts. Bored - do everything you have already done, without any skills on your bar, just your hand weapon, or visa versa. Or just take a good month or two off and do something else in RL that interests you.

If you are bored with GW, then the best thing to do would be to not play for a while. I've been playing since just after release of original Prophs and during this time have taken a few breaks where I haven't played at all for up to a few months.
The great thing is that when (if) you come back, everything will be reasonably fresh again. Set yourself some in-game goals...

Try the old hardcore Diablo II style in GW - without the twinking. So don't get runs, or party up with folks that will take all the work out of it. Only use what you find.

when you're in a good guild that you'd never like to see it fall, you'll start to do FFF and AB. when you get bored, do FFF and AB. when you have nothing to do, do FFF and AB. when you don't want to do FFF and AB...... think of your guild, then force yourself do FFF and AB. ^^

i downloaded Tales of Pirates and played it for a bit...then i realised GW's just THE best mmo out there. the "free" mmos that can make any noob 1337 just because they spend $$$ to buy elite wep/armor/item just makes me sick.

As soon as I can I migh start a PVP character. So maybe try that ? Just my opinion frankly I had the same thing with WOW and well I left and came back and I enjoyed it more than ever (I HAVE STOPPED PLAYIG WOW AND I'M NOT SAYING ANY POSITVE ABOUT IT IN ANY WAY). Anyway I think once I'm done with GW and GW2 isn't released it will be PVP for me.
