Okay, so i have been having this problem for a while now and just have ignored it. But i just can't take it anymore and wish to address the community. Every time there is a new build for guildwars i close the client and restart just like every other shmo. The new build loads and all is dandy. But when the same looking screen that connects you to arena net comes up it just stays at 0 and doesnt move no matter how long i wait. My remedy has always been just to either disable norton internet security or restart my computer. Restarting takes a while and isn't really convenient. So i am just wondering if any other people out there have had this problem and know what i can do to help.
Thanks in advance!

Perhaps Norton is blocking access to A-Net? If that's the case, then you might just have to keep turning Norton off while you play/update the game.

Uninstall Norton, it plagues your computer with issues and Norton is the cause of this one too. Specifically the firewall portion. Run this tool to get rid of it funny.

Thanks for commenting brianna, and i might just have to.
and Tarun, thanks, but i can't really cause it isn't my computer. however i wish i could i wouldn't be allowed. that is why i want my own computer so bad... but anyways.. it is the firewall i believe. because sometimes when i just turn on the comp it says Blah Blah access to the internet and i obviously choose the one that says always allow GW.exe the access to the internet. and that is when i close it for the new client and all that fun (not really) stuff happens... sooo thanks again you two.
