Party Search in Guild Halls

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it seemed to fit best.

Anyway, I was in my guild hall earlier, and out of habit I hit P to open search. I found that the player tab is grayed out and you can't post trade or group messages in it.
Just wondering if anyone knows the reason why they would do that. Some guilds might have found it useful to be able to use search in their halls.

Use the "all chat" while you are in your hall.

or, since about 98% of the time anyone in the guild hall will be on your guild roster, you may use guild chat.

The 2% would be if you have a guest to your hall.

I made up those percentages.

Of course you can just use the normal chat...was just curious why they would take the player tab out and take away the option to use search.

I don't think they expect you to need to use it while in your GH. I don't see why you would need to either.

I hate when people try selling things in Guild Chat.
My guild doesnt allow trade over guild or alliance chat.
Instead they hold a garage sell every saturday in one of the halls and they use the local or trade chat.
This works perfect.

Yup. Our alliance does an inventory clearance sale every couple of weeks or so, hosted by a different guild each time.

Being able to use the Party Search there would be nice, but local trade chat works for the amount of people that usually show and participate.

Man, you must have a lot of people trying to sell stuff over aliiance chat, I'll use it if I get bored spamming somewhere, and then ill try to help out an alliance member, but I wont push it.

If this was directed at me...I guess I should have explained further...it is hosted in the guild's guild hall. Other than reminders that the event is going on, we don't allow spamming of anything in alliance or guild chats.
