DM & SS: Need Suggestions

I've been searching around, but cant really find anything definitive. Need a few suggestions/info on:

1) What can be used to raise Death Magic beyond the level of 16, which I currently have via runes?

+1 headpiece and +3 Superior in chest plate.

I'd really like to push my level of DM as high as possible as a standard (meaning w/o consumables). I'm actually finding that, while melee minions are slow (I've found fiends to actually be somewhat less effective despite their attack speed, to be honest), the Flesh Golem actually dishes out some pretty serious damage (which some I've heard say otherwise) and Vampiric Horrors along with him seem to really steamrole through enemies. But I'd like to push my FG's level beyond 26 and general minion level beyond 18, if possible.

2) SS build (an entire issue unto itself): what is/are some of the best recommendations for the most powerful build based around this skill?

Basically, I'd like to create an SS build to curse the hell outta everything that really dishes out the damage.

I'll be using the same char (not that it matters) and just switching back-and-forth between armor/skills when necessary.

I don't know all the details about what weapons etc. are available to raise Death Magic or Curses, nor where I could possibly obtain them (aside from someone selling them).

I appreciate your help.
Cheers.

Staff wrapping of mastery+1 20% will get it to 17, and also various shrines will raise attributes. Otherwise you need consumables.

An offhand item that grants +1 to DM 20% of the time is going to be the closest you are going to get to raising dm above 16 on a regular basis. There's a collector in Morostav Trail in Factions that has a good one.

For [skill]spiteful spirit[/skill], pair it with [skill]reckless haste[/skill] [skill]mark of pain[/skill]

Really, there is no dependable way to raise attributes above 16 without consumables. The wands and offhands only work 20% of the time. I guess buying Necromancer of Grenth from an avatar of Grenth doesn't really count as a consumable and will raise necro attributes by one.

If your main purpose is to apply SS to as many mobs as possible, you can bring [skill]Arcane Echo[/skill]. There have been many debates as to weather this is a good use of your energy/skill slots or not, but it is an option.

Also, you might try the sticky: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10241271

another little tidbit if you are going to be switching armor/skills...

you should put your +death magic and + curse rune on your headpiece...

that way you only have to switch 1 armor piece instead of 2.....
assuming you purchased a +1 DM headpiece and a +1 curses headpiece, that is...lol

hope i'm not too vague...just for clarification..it's better to have a
a headpiece with +1 DM, with a +2,+3 DM rune
a headpiece with +1 curses, with a +1,2,3 curses rune

if you put the +3 on the chest....now you have to switch out 2 armor pieces (head and chest) everytime you want to swap skills..

Theres enough answers there for question 1, but as for question 2 theres many skills you can throw together to really bring hell to your enemy.

Signet of lost Souls [E-Management]
Hexor's Vigor
Spiteful Spirit
Insidious parasite
Mark of Pain
Enfeeble

----(Optional skills that will go well with the above)----

Necrosis [PvE]
Defile Enchantments/Desecrate Enchantments
Envenom Enchantments
Archane Echo
Reckless haste W' Price of Failure

Really the list could go on.. theres many possibilitys, but i just love seeing all those 37's - 42's & the occasional 47

Sometimes i wish the rest of my team could see them.. all that work im doing, but ahwell..

Enjoy your Necro'ing.

Nothing can push it past 16 "as a standard" without consumables/blessings.
A staff wrapping/focus inscription of 20% +1 death mastery will give you 17 20% of the time, so you could maybe call that 16.2.

That's the core to a solid SS. The rest is secondary.

Popular choices for the remaining spaces include: rez, arcane echo or awaken the blood to boost SS damage, some direct damage - a PVE-skill or else defile/desecrate enchants, vanguard assassin for leveraging MoP/Barbs, asura scan for kinda "double barbs," and pain inverter/norn shouts for utility.

With MoP/Barbs, a MM or MB in your party can be your best friend.
