Mini pets and february 29th

say you made a character on February 29th would you have to wait 4 years to get a mini pet. Or is this date going to throw all of our characters birthdays off by 1 day because its based on months as you see they count months. So ya would you have to wait 4 years?

You get a mini pet on your characters birthday - the day it was created. If it was created the 29th, you'd probably get it the 28th or the 1st. You wouldn't have to wait 4 years.

I suppose they just count 365 days (so first of march)

What an interesting question! I think Pyro is correct, and that you'll see your gift on March 1st, but I'll ask the designers about it and get you the answer when they have a chance to respond.

I don't think they actually go by the date it was created, but how many days.

Seing as the dates you get your mini isn't always accurate anyway i'd take a guess the game just counts the number of days rather than base it off a true calender.

Umm.. "aren't always accurate?" Since when. We haven't had a leap year yet since GW has been out. Therefore, if they just counted by the number of days, it would be identical to a true calender.

Actually, there have been numerous complaints about people not getting their minis on time.

So, whether it's cause of leap year or not, there's something wrong.

I'd assume it just counts 31,536,000 seconds, so you'll get it on the 1st of march.

I dunno, I was expecting a mini on an old char, and when I typed age, it said 12 months, and I hadnt gotten a mini yet, not sure if 11 months and 15 days counts as 12 months though. (I got it eventually, and didnt lose any sleep over it).

Yeah, I know the days aren't always accurate exactly. But if it is your theory and they just count off days, then that doesn't make any sense either.

When you get your birthaday present is always a day or two off in my expierence. So somewhere around 27-2.

I assume that the leap year would through off the birthdays even more then they already are, but im gonna make a character on feb 29 to see what happens.

Maybe they will just shut down the servers before Feb. 28, 2009 to prevent this from becoming a problem. That, and they can say GW2 will be out soon, buy that.
