Revive the old "elite missions"

Okay i dont know if anyone posted something like this allready if so feel free to lock or remove.
DoA is the "best" way to make money of all elite missions. But where is the love for the older elite missions.
The deep and urgoz had chests added in the end. Though the drops were getting comon pretty soon. Should they add new items to the chests? new greens? new golds?
Tombs is imo an elite of Tyria. Every elite mission got a chest for either finishing all quests and for ending the mission... Why didnt tombs get a chest?

Tombs is, in my opinion, ridiculously easy. Any B/P team with a halfway decent puller and a monk can absolutely destroy the tombs. I have done neither DoA, Urgoz, or the Deep, so I can't really comment on those.
But I agree, chests need to be ended to make the trip more worthwhile. The Tomb's greens just are not going for premium price anymore.

Tombs doesnt worth adding a chest, it allready worth shit for a hour run. Niether doa will be best way to make cash, but it'll take twice longer since there are twice better/more weapons.

The tomb might not have a chest but you get some nice greens upon finishing it.
Asking Anet to "fix" the falling value of rare items by adding more rare items will not fix the "price problem". In 6 month those new rare item will have been over farm to and we'll be back to square one.
Anet is in no way responsible for the over-farming of green and gold weapons. Asking them to "nerf" some area will not resolve anything either. We will find a way around the "nerf" and the problem will come back.
I'm not blaming farmers for wanting to make some fast plats, i'm just stating a fact.
We as a community inflicted this problem on ourself and we got no one else to blame but ourself.

Ex.: A destroyer bow cost around 50k with materials. i cant hardly see some one selling those for 10k.
Might be a nice way to introduce those contest weapons to the game. Would prevent the first one to be drop from being sale for 567 gazillion gold, and then in 6 months having everybody saling them to merch because the skin became too commun.

imo I think should receive urgoz and the deep, like DoA their own outposts, where players would find also some new NPC's.
NPC's similar to those in DoA... some traders, which would give to player special new weapons and and/or an valuable item, like the armbrace of truth and the coffer of whispers, which can give you something out of a random list of items, where also rare minipets would be under...
I think, the Deep and Urgoz should be the elite missions for those rare asian minipets for a unlimited source for those minipets - the rarest ones have then drop rate, like ghostly hero or mallyx then...
each elite area would have then some own minipets.
The Elia area of Kanaxai would provide then such special items, like the armbraces/coffers, which would have the chance to drop minis like:

Mini-Shiroken
Mini-Vizu

Prophecies should receive as its own elite area a new realm of the gods... I'd love to see the realm of dwayna or melandru.
Dwayna's realm could be the Sacred Sky Empire of the Gods, where players could explore then the Holy Temple of Dwayna and the other Temples and Pallaces of the other Gods to search the gods for their divine courage tests the players have to fulfill to become immortal (For Grenth the player would have to solve the Underworld, he would have no temple or so in Dwayna's realm)
This Elite Area coulld be reached then only by 1 way... a group of players which wants to reach the outpost (a temple on a floating Island Ring in the Sky) thrrough ending a new elite dungeon, whoch would have 25 Stages !!!
It would be the Divine Tree of Life Yggdrasill A huge Tree Dungeon, which would be protected by the Elfes (there were Dwarfs in GW, there are Centaurs in GW..so there also must live somewhere Elfes in a divine forest, they must not be playable, but at least somewhere exist in the game world, living very isolated from the humans and other races.
For entering their sacred lands, they could be even Enemies XD

agree, they should add something to make these elite missions morei nteresting, as otherwise its not worth it... you spend 2hours~ for urgoz, then open the chest and get req13 crap skin... c'mon, its just rediculous(wrong spelling ftw:P)... not sure what they should do, but something must be done for sure... i know they are busy with GW2, but there is still GW out and its still their game!
and about kurz/luxon armors, i agree, it would be the best way to add contest items, tho there would probably be the problem that kurzicks can only buy kurz weps and luxons only lux weps(NPC wont trade with player of opposite faction)- still this can make market a bit more active, as kurzicks will be buying lux weps and luxons kuz weps. and maybe... these 2 traders could be added at the end of urgoz/the deep, after you kill kanaxai or urgoz the weaon trader would spawn and you can trade yu mats for wep then... would make both missions more interesting again and players will come there again.

The Deep And Urgoz should be open access, no scroll and no town ownership. I always hated the limited access to these areas.

I would really like to see the drops in Urgoz and the Deep become inscribable. That would drive me to grind Urgoz again like I used to. It may even motivate me to resurrect FooL as a Hfff guild and bring back the faction wars of old, when guild faction meant more than just reduced lockpick prices.

You need to be able to draw people together in a way that will encourage groups trying difficult areas they are not familiar with.
When you could farm the vamps in Urgoz there were large groups there because of the easy farming. But, as farmer got bored, many of them would form groups to try the mission out. You don't dare just "tryout" UW or FoW or you lose your entrance fee if you fail. You don't dare go to urgoz or deep to look for a group because you won't find enough people and you will have wasted your scroll.
Maybe they need to have a single staging area for all the elite missions. A place where you can choose do do any of them and where, if you wipe, you return to instead of being kicked out.
Then people going for the easy ones like TPK would also be in a spot where they could join up with groups who are tutoring the harder ones or get a pug to try out something they have never done before.
Basically, elite missions are and will remain dead until you can entice enough people into them to make forming a group a reasonable probability.

Urgoz and he Deep - well I wouldn't waste a scroll knowing nobody is there - they need to do Elite mission days or something for them.
Perhaps we can make an Urgoz Day - Saturday or Sunday all day long?

I really don't like Phoenix Tears idea of just adding more minipets.
I still think the Deep and Urgoz are tons of fun. I just don't expect to go without a good alliance/guild group. If you want to do them, you still can. You can't "force" people to go back to older content. People stoped playing (read, not farm) UW/SF/Tombs/Urgoz/etc because they got bored with it becuase it is older content. People will always gravitate towards the newer zones.

Deep and Urgoz are missions you can do in a casual way cuz they are not too long and both fun to do.. The reason i made this thread is to see if there are ways to motivate people to do these missions more

Tombs: Stupidly easy. A B/P team can beat it in like half (sometimes one third) of the time a normal party can do it. People only B/P that place now, IMO it doesn't deserve a chest. The Phantom Chests still yield some fair stuff, the Greens are worth some value, the whites there are usually worth 70g+ (usually 100g+) apiece, not to mention the potental for ectos.
Urgoz/The Deep: In all truth I never bothered with these missions, as soon as I got Factions (and NF, I got Proph Dec. 2005 then went on a hiatus in late 2006 then bought Factions and NF at the same time in June 2007) and beat it, I was like "THANK GOD IT'S OVER! *loads up Nightfall*". It should be open access though, the whole town ownership idea is bullshit anyway because the main towns rarely change ownership anyway, and the elite areas are PvE yet the access is based on PvP? WTFBBQ!
FoW and UW are just fine IMO, they have and always will be. They are always nice income and since Favor was changed, the Americans finally get some time in there. I remember when Europe hogged favor until like 11PM where I live, East Coast in the USA, and mind I'm a student - not to mention 3/4ths of my guild were Europeans, and I was so pissed at them getting 4 sets of FoW whilst I had to stick to farming Ettins (which I cannot even do anymore since ANet nerfed their drops).

However, Urgoz still posts a bit of a challenge in that it just take a little longer than most people are willing to deal with for such crap rewards. However, this article has motivated me to organize a guild run at Urgoz again. FTW!!! just for old times sake.

We dont need new reward for something old. We need a new content. A new SF type update with new elite zones/missions/monsters/skins. Even if that means we have to pay for it.

My guild/alliance does runs through these old elite areas-mostly for the fun of it and to get us some Zodiacs
But compared to other "high-end" weapons, the market on Zodiacs is kinda of a niche-although you can sell a q9 for a decent amount if you can find a buyer.

To be honest, I really don't see the point of reviving old elite areas if all we are gonna find there are ursan groups. The only place you can get a decent non-ursan group at the moment is FoW.
