the armor discussion

I'm saving up for Vabbian armor, and I got to thinking - there are so many different armors in the game, and everyone has their own opinions of them. So my question is, which ones do you hate, love, don't care, etc.? Here is my list, but only the top coolest or ugliest.

Elite Luxon Ranger armor is my favorite armor for rangers, bar none. That and the Monument.

Being that many armors vastly differ between genders, that might be an important thing to note when mentioning your favorites.

I think one of my most favorite armors in the game is female Necro Vabbian.

Agreed with both the above points (Female Necro Vabbian and Ranger Elite Luxon). I'd also like to add that a lot of the Norn armours look absolutely amazing, particularly rit and ranger. The only norn armour that I can think of off the top of my head that is particularly bad is male Dervish armour. It's absolutely hilariously ridiculous, especially with the hood off. No one wearing that armour can truthfully say "It's a robe, not a dress!"

None of the armours are particularly ugly to me. Some are less appealing than others, but I can still appreciate the design of it. The most unfortunate thing I can note about armours is some professions don't have much variation. For instance, pretty much all male ele armour looks stylishly the same. Most dervish armour looks the same as well.

My Favorite for my Necromancer is Norn and Asuran for female if dyed correctly. 15k Luxon is Awsome on Monk (male/female). Warrior- 15k Platemail, Obsidian, 15k Kurzicks, Primeval, Elite Sunspear, Vibbian, Silverwing, Momunent, Elite Gladiator-(both Male/Female).

My all-time favorite: Male Necromancer 15k Luxon. Contrast is awesome.

All-time worst: Platemail. Ew... I just DON'T GET IT... sure it's all medieval-ish but gawds. This thing is horrible IMHO. Closely followed by necro Vabbian.

I don't feel like hating on peoples armors tonight, I've done that enough, but I will say what I love.

Male Norn Ranger. Possibly the most detailed armor in the game, and it's not ridiculously over the top - it actually looks like something someone might wear. Win!

Female Mesmer tyrian Rogue, tyrian Female Enchanter, and elite Female Rogue. Yeah, I know that Enchanter is ridiculous and not something anyone would ever wear in combat, but I like it anyway.

Other than that there's not a whole lot of armors I really love, and like I said I'll go easy on the hate tonight.

I always think about a certain 11th Division Captin whenever I see that Primeval Headgear.

My favorite for elementalist is monument. I have just gotten it, I say it was totally worth it. It looks better than any other armour I have owned.

15k female ranger drakescale, dyed black, white, or red XD.
Thats really the only female ranger armor i like.

I have a hard time finding armor I like for some professions and find many I like for others, female characters only:

Rangers: Until eotn came out, I only liked the tyrian collectors armor, elite studded leather and fow. I like the eotn female ranger armor though I've only gotten the dwarven coat.

For Necros: I like the starter and collectors necro armor from Tyria, the 1.5 k canthan armor, some of the tormenters armor, and the vabbian.

For eles and mesmers: I like too many to list, they have a lot of nice looking armor. My favorites would have to be elite sunspear and the tyrian collectors armor on the ele and the elite canthan and elite kurzick on the mesmer.

Warriors: I only like the 1.5 k luxon. I have on elite set just to put in hom, but my warrior never wears it.

Ritualist: I like a lot of those armors too. I guess my favorite is the elite luxon. I also have elite exotic, regular exotic, and vabbian.

Strangely, I prefer several of the less expensive armors as far as looks go. I wish you could display some of them in hom.

What i really hate is Primeval Necro armor. For the love of god who wants to look like something straight out of a B-movie? Fishman ftl!

Armor looks are just a point a view.
For some people the armors i consider ugly are considered cool.
The same way i find these gloves, bandanas and etc ridiculously ridiculous and ugly, some people like to wear them like they were in an ugly parade.
But again i have to respect that... unfortunatelly
