Why no shift + "button" controls
Goblinmatt
Why cant we bind keys to stuff like "shift + 1" "ctrl + 2".
I would easliy be able to bind all my heroes important skills no problem.

That would be pretty cool, yo.
Shift, Alt and Ctrl for each hero.

Yeah I dont know why they dont already have this. WoW would be almost unplayable without it.

Aaaalready suggested and I still agree!
Imagine it!
Ctrl + 6 -> Hero 1 activate skill 6
Alt + 2 -> Hero 2 activate skill 2
Shift + 4 -> Hero 3 activate skill 4
Shift + Tab -> Target net ally.
Alt + Tab -> Target next objetct
Ctrl + Tab -> Target lowest health minion.
Superb!

Yeah, thing is, those are all needed keys. Shift for capitalizing when typing, alt I think is for your allies, Ctrl for enemies. Which is basically I meant. But it would be nice. And you probably have spare keys on your keyboard that you're not using. Like, use the keypad or something I guess. :S But if this could be worked out, I 100%

I think it's a good idea. There aren't enough buttons on the keyboards to be able to effectively micromanage your heroes. /signed on this one.

It's not really ahrd to do, the only fixed key command that you cannot override in Windows is Ctrl+Alt+Del.

You honestly think 90% of the community is smart enough to know how to turn Alt + Tab off?

Easiest way to do this, I think, would be to use number pad keys + some other button. Only issue I can see with that is that GW may not be able to tell the difference between the numbers at the top of the keyboard and the numbers in the Numpad.
I was going to say that this feature is already available if you hit F11, but I realize now that you want to be able to combine keys to do the action, like now when you hold Ctrl + # to ping the skill you're using. I personally have set F5-F8 to manage my Heroes and Henches for doing HFFF.

If players want the Alt Tab, they simply don't link anything to it, if they do not use the Alt-Tab, they can use the combination for something else in the game.
I thought it was easier to understand.

Oblivion for example does that. You can't Alt+ Tab or Ctrl + Esc. It just ends up opening menus.
It's been kind of bothering me though because closing the whole game down to look up something online for a friend is really bothersome...

Hm... if those combinatios were allowed, then they should add Warning messages:
"This combination is already linked to the "Change Focus" windows command, are you sure that you want to override it? (To recover the key command just delete any key binding to it)".
