With the introduction of Glyph of Swiftness and thus the ability to maintain OF indefinitely, I thought it might be possible to run a faster build than the E/A SF build down in the margonite temple. Using PS and Stoneflesh to negate all damage, and Balth Spirit to manage energy, I figured it would be fairly straightforward.

However, I didn't count on one thing - mighty throw. The additional damage this causes cuts you down pretty quick. These are the skills and template code I'm running:

Protective Spirit
Stoneflesh Aura
Glyph of Swiftness
Obsidian Flesh
Tenai's Crystals
Crystal Wave
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit

Template Code: [OgNFgUy814fT94rK91GLxshIReA]

I'm running it with the gear I use to farm Hulking Stone Elementals so HP is down at 295 but anywhere around 330hp will suffice if you have 16 in Earth Magic. Obviously a +20% enchant weapon is a must.

So can anyone help out in refining this build to counteract the damage taken? I still think it is possible, perhaps with Healing Breeze? Any help would be much appreciated

I'd say drop Mending and Crystal Wave and get Healing Breeze/Kinetic Armor and Sliver Armor.

Would the purpose of the build be to farm ele swords?

Well ele swords plus its a pretty lucrative farm anyway, if I can get this working it will be 10 times faster than E/A which would be awesome

Ele swords are just a bonus, these guys drop 4-6 golds for me every run with my E/A.

You shouldn't be taking any damage with PS + Stoneflesh Aura if you have less than 330hp or whatever Stoneflesh's damage reduction is x 10...

Also yea, no Sliver Armor? How are you killing stuff?......

And btw the E/A run is pretty fast now with Air of Superiority.

Tenai's and Crystal Wave is how I'm killing stuff. Altough sliver armour does work better (obviously). It seems that if a skill does +XX dmg, Stoneflesh doesn't reduce it. So if you've got 20-30 monoliths all in Para form, death is rather immenent. I'll try with Breeze, Sliver, and Kinetic, see how that works out.

EDIT: Ok forgot to pre-cast Balth's (duh) but wasn't taking any dmg with all my enchants up. Is a lot of work to keep them all going!

EDIT 2: It does work, but there are 3 problems:

1) Still take damage (not sure where from, haven't checked all the possible monolith skills yet) although Breeze should be able to heal through it, if not for:
2) Signet of Humility. Obviously the game knows when your elite recharges, so as soon as it does they use the sig, meaning you have no Obsi Flesh and therefore can be hit by a multitude of mesmer degens, generally resulting in death.
3) Incredibly hard work to keep all the enchants going. Bear in mind you've got to maintain 4 enchants that have to me manually cast, plus Kinetic & Sliver. As the cast times are not instantaneous, if two happen to run out at the same time you may well be screwed. I'll continue to tinker with it and see what I can come up with.

I think you're problem with the damage is that the casting order of stoneflesh and prot spirit matters, basically if you cast stoneflesh first the damage (example 100) go like this: 100-33 = 77, 77 reduce to 10% = 33 (depending on max hp) So, prot spirit must always be cast before stoneflesh (100, reduce to 10% = 33 - 33 = 0)

The problem is when you go to recast them, there will be a 2 sec gap where it is subtracting dmg by the first method I showed (leaving you to take 10% dmg)

I discussed this all in this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10246993
(dont post, its been dead a long time) - First build is basically what you want.

You're gonna want shield of absorption, because it always takes effects after prot spirit no matter the casting order, and use it to cover that 2 sec gap.

I think he means with air of superiority you can keep renewing shadow form while in the enemy's midst.

I came up with the same idea a while ago, but I failed when the monoliths transform to mesmer. They use signet of humility wich isn't stopped by obsidian flesh. OF will get disabled and eventually you'll die because of spells, etc.... I'm not totally sure if it's still the same.
