I've read and done everything in this topic, my gw.dat isn't fragmented, it's 1:1, but still I'm having gigantic lag ever since last weeks Canthan New Year. I'm rubberbanding all over like mad, it's extremely annoying... Lag spikes of over 2.000ms all the time...
Anyone else have this problem?

I'm Euro, and was playing on Ero servers at the time (generally play on US due to Guild) but my ping would jump from 50 to 3k in seconds...
I am playing over wireless which doesn't help, but this issue only started like a month or so ago. Before that I could count the number of disconnects I had on one hand.

Yeah been getting bad pings for the last 3 or 4 days.Just tried again and i was getting like 5 to 10 second lag spikes, totally unplayable.Rest of internet seems ok,getting 20ms pings on counterstrike so it would seem its Anet but it could be routing at my ISP which is Demon.Hope it goes away soon as i'm getting withdrawal symptoms, nearly got a hammer on my router

Hi,
I play GW regularly for about 3 years and never had any problems with lag. This changed at the "Cathan New Years" event. During that weekend I was unable to map in Shing Jea Monastery, or any town in the island during peke hours, got err7 all the time. It was very frustrating but I attributed it to the massive amount of players there.
After the event I started getting the "Connecting to ArenaNet" freeze up and massive lag spikes randomly.
I have found that to fix the lag spikes I just need to restart the game and everything works fine for awhile until the next spike.
I haven't found a solution for the freeze up at "Connecting to ArenaNet" except go play in my other computer until GW decides to start up. Both computers are in the same network so the problem can only be at the ArenaNet end.
So, although very annoying I was dealing with it. But, since a couple days ago I can't map to any major City (Lions Arch, Kamadan, Kaineng Center) at the home districts (Europe, America, ..). Well, I can map but with massive lag 50k+ and end by having err7. To remove my char from this towns I have to enter with another char, map to the International district then enter with the freezed character and map out of the town.
This is very annoying.
Have fun,

Hi again
,
One of my friends come up with a theory about this lag problem that I kind of agree.
The theory is that this increasing lag problem its caused by the influx of new players from Asia.
The lag issues for me started around the time the Asia districts where open to travel (January 17 I think) so, this seems a valid theory.
What you guys think?
