I have an
Hp Pavilion
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.19Ghz
1.00GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200
I have closed everything but GW down and still the blue screen of death after playing only a short time. The first time I also had msn, skype, Simplite for msn and PC Cillin open. So I killed the skype and went to Ventrilo, the last time I closed everything even pc cillin. Still blue screen. I went to ATI and updated the driver for my particular card, closed everything and opened GW. It was up for about 5 minutes before it blue screened. I have read the read this first thread and adjusted my 3D settings, still Blue screening. When my system recovers it tells me it has to do with the ATI card I am running.
Suggestions?

Your videocard could be:
-Overheating
-Slightly damaged somehow
-Not compatible with your Motherboard ( it happens once in a while )
-Running on too litte power, your powersupply is not strong enough
You could also have installed the drivers wrongly. Always de-install the previous drivers and reboot before you install new ones. Could that be it?

Willow is my wife and RL has her occupied atm so I thought I'd respond.
She's managed to get GW running on that laptop and she did it by following the advice posted here. She also turned down some of the graphics settings (although which ones exactly, I'm unsure of.)
I figured I'd take a second to post in case anyone else runs across a similar situation. Thanks for taking the time to reply, Aera.
