User defined titles

Simply put: besides displaying one of the achieved titles in the list, give the option to write something on your own that can be displayed in the title tag below the name.

This could be used to express a mood, something about you or your char.
So that 99% of the wammos could go around with a [I like to pwn noobs] tag and have fun with that.

Another place where the immature could throw around foul language and racial, and other insults.

I don't see it as being useful or fun.

Terra, you seem pretty worried about seeing useless, cosmetic things being implemented in GW. Plenty of stuff exists in the game just for the fun of it, you know. Emotes, joke rewards like Cult of the Stone Face's "eternal bliss", elf tonics, etc. Sure, there's the Party Animal track now, but for over two years there was no point to holiday poppers beyond the joy of setting them off.

With that said, most people will probably use this to sell items or be hateful/stupid, so I'm not sure I want to see it happen.

Tbh, quickmonty has it. It would be abused whereby players could post abusive messages, or even for gold bots to display the website they're advertising..

It's a nice idea, but as mentioned above, too hard to control. Mill'd go insane with the conflict of interest over that one.

Yes, but you can have a character name banned if it's too far over the edge.

Heh, all that makes me think of is MySpace...

Plus this would be give gold sellers another way to advertise without being so obvious about it.

Thought of this myself a while back, but as said people would only abuse it. It's the internet...everything is abused.

If we can change our characters name, or change the "display name", then maybe.

I'll /notsign this - even though I think it could be good. Too many people would abuse it, as others have said, and it would be too hard to "manage."

Side note - in Ragnarok - guild leaders were able to assign these "user titles" to their members, and that was quite fun, nobody abused it there. Possibly because only the guild leader was allowed to set the titles.

Instead of that, why not just make the Party text you set popup over your head when they 'talk' to your character?

people would just write like "Kings Hero" or "Legendary Vanquisher" you would never know what title is real or not
