which motherboard to go with
Knightwalker
well i have been lookin around some computer sites mainly the ones in the Canadian area but i dont know which brand to go with they all sound very very good but i just dont know what to choose so i asked my computer teacher and a couple of his friends they all said that ASUS is excellent and not very pricey too but i just dont know are they right
Quaker
Yes, they're right, but there are other good brands too. MSI, Gigabyte, Intel, DFI, Sapphire & Aopen come to mind.
As in most things low-end price=low-end quality/performance.

intel seems good reason is that everytime he asked if i picked one out he always throws in Dont forget to get a intel dual core duo....maybe as for my first motherboard i'll go with ASUS first...then well see lol...plus i just wanted some advice if it was a bad brand or something like that
Aera
I'd go for Gigabyte and MSI ( have MSI myself atm ). Great service, great performance.

Knightwalker, that third like you have is a very nice board. Wink... Wink... ASUS is my favorite too! I mainly like their hardware monitoring and management software. They are easy to overclock, too. As Quaker said earlier, there are some other alternatives out there, too. ASUS has long been a fan of mine, though.
