When i reach level 20 on the Roleplaying server will i be able to put him on the PvP only server? Or is there also a PvP thing on the RP server. And also what is the point of leveling someone up when you can just go to the PvP server and have instant level 20? Sorry i just joined this game

both are the same server, lvl 20 is just the minimum lvl for pvp (not counting ascalon and sunspear arena's), if you create a pvp char you won't be able to enter any pve areas on the pvp char.

It is the same server. Go to Great Temple of Balthazar and out to Isle of Namless. Following his quests should take you to the PvP arenas. OR If you have factions you can acess Alliance Battles. You can go there before level 20 but can't participate. You get there from the guild hall. Talking to the alliance battle guy.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Guide This should help. He is the guy you are looking for

There are no seperate servers for PvP and PvE characters.
Both characters can chat with each other at any time. If a PvE character goes to PvP, he could be teamed up with both PvE and PvP characters.

The point is, a PvP character can ONLY do PvP areas. PvE characters can do missions, quests, fight monsters, etc. PvP characters are limited to only go to their guild hall and other PvP "towns" that serve as loading areas for PvP missions.

You can have an instant level 20 character by creating a PvP character from the character screen.

An existing PvE (RP) character can get to the PvP content by visiting the Battle Isles. This is done by clicking on the ship icon on your map once that character has reached Lions Arch, Kaineng Center, or Kamadan, Jewel of Istan (depending on which chapter you're in)

Your character won't have to be level 20 to reach the Battle Isles, but since nearly everyone else there wll be level 20 you'd be at a disadvantage to play there with a character of lower level.

There are one or two PVP areas within the PvE storyline, depending on the chapter you're playing, but the majority of PVP comes from the Battle Isles

The point of lvling up a char is for PvE. Many people play only PvE and never use thier char in PvP.

Some have both PvP and PvE chars. It used to be that PvE chars had much better skins for weapons and armor but that has improved a bit now. You also can purchase skills packs for PvP so you do not have to unlock them with balth points or in PvE.

Yes, you do buy pvp unlock packs with real money.

Check the online store.

EDIT: But it's not the only way to unlock skills, as HawkofStorms mentions below me

Any skill you have "unlocked" via a PvE character (ie, if you have the skill) can be used on a PvP character. You can also unlock skills via the "Priest of Bathazar [Rewards]" NPC at any PvP area by spending Bathazar Faction, which you earn by playing PvP.

You *can* buy PvP unlock packs w/ real money, but you don't *have to*.

In general, I enjoy PvP for short stints, but I can play PvE for hours on end. So, for me, unlocking skills via PvE is part of the fun. To each his own, though...

I didnt read any posts but you should really consider pvp only characters for pvp only. They are easier to create and change armor/weapons/runes/staffs/offhands/shields/everythingelse.
