OP- I think a cool feature could be when you click a boss or something, you see the percent chance of getting its green. This could work with any creature for any item. I don't know how hard this would be to do, or how plausible it is, but when i kill a boss 75 times (literally) in HM and not once got the drop i wanted, i want to know if i even have a chance. Please don't flame me for this. Its not a fix its a suggestion.

- Signet of Scan
E:n/a C:2s R:2s

Once used on a living creature (friend, foe or even target self) it could popup an small panel or output in the chat info like:
- Names of Possible green drops
- Possible materials that it could drop.
- Trophies dropped.
- Health, Health regen.
- Energy, Energy Regen.
- Armor and Weaknesses.
- Damage dealt with normal attacks.
- Skills equipped and attributes.
- Etc.

(The rest of the drops won't be show, since they would be either very random(weapons dropped by anyone in the area) or very common(gold, scrolls, tomes, armor)

I think this is a great idea and I would like to change this post to a /sign or /notsign for this idea.

Reminds me of MUDs. Find a big mob and use a /glance to see if he's got a chance of dropping something good.

One extra thing it would have it's that 'end-mision' bosses would keep their 'secrets', since the drops would be linked to the chest, keeping some kind of 'mystery' for them.

And that's something good, since they may have more than 10 unique drops.

I don't think it's needed. You may as well have a /wiki command if you're going down that road.

This would be good for the Wiki too.
Wiki editors would have good sources of information, since the info in the wiki is not given by ddevelpers, but investigated by players (and sometimes with sme help of the devs when it comes to races and such)

It won't remove usefulnes from the wiki. It will add more data to add.

Actually, to help wiki editors was the first reason I had for the idea of the skill.

I'm not saying wiki will become useless, I'm saying you may as well make the game and the guide one program/site if you're going there.

Yes, it was intended as sarcasm though.

But that has really nothing to do with the suggestion.

Since the wiki has only data know by the players, it won't help in any way just making the wiki ingame.

It would be better something like a 'server drop' page like some Ragnarok Online servers have, where you can see specific drops of each enemy rather than that.

If you're going to tell the stats of every monster and every drop rate, you may consider an ingame guide, which, IMO should not exist.

Did they say every monster? No. But with this sort of introduction, it will start a chain reaction of demands that will eventually lead to a call for a total ingame walk through.

Interesting request, but keep in mind that when you go out to farm a character, if you have hench or heros with you, that weapon may drop every time, you just don't see it based on the fact that it dropped for a npc. Back on the scan idea, I really don't need that much more info; I just still want to see the energy bars of my party.

I can tell it won't work.

Reason: The anti farming code. It keeps changing. By knowing it = useless anyway! Won't do anything!

Well, what if a boss says its drop rate for its green is like, 7.5%, lets say, and someone kills the boss 15 times and doesn't get the green. They're gonna feel the game is bugged after a while, even if it is just a coincidence or bad luck. This would result in countless angry letters from ignorant people to NCSoft, and I don't think anyone wants that.

One thing that i was trying to say here is not to know what drop you were going to get, but what was the chance you would get a drop, or get a specfic drop is it is unique to a boss or enemy.

Exactly.

Player would just see things like:

Flint's Fleshcleaver
HP: 800
EN: 106
AL: 80, (90vs Elemenals. 50 vs Fire. 110 vs Ice.)
Race: Elemental.
Army: Stone Summit.
Trophies: Icy Lodestone (20%), Stone Summit Badge (25%)
Greens: Flint's Artifact (5%), Flint's Fleshcleaver (5%), Flint's Wand (5%)
Materials: Pile of Glittering Dust (5%)

But you wn't see which items will drop. Just the ingame chances considered when calculating the drops.

Like in most RPG games.

The above idea might fail because enemies have unlimited Energy. Seriously, I could Echo + Arcane Echo + Power Leak (back in its prime, of course, like, -19 energy) and get 3 spells that were like, 15+ energy + exhaustion, and they'd still be hitting Meteor Shower or Maelstrom or some BS like that.

tl;dr: Enemies don't have energy.

That depends on the enemy. Some of them have huge energy regeneration and some have so much energy that it seems that it's ilimited. But try Arcane Languor or Sympathetic Visage/Ancestor's Visage. You will see that enemies may run out of energy.

I'd rather just buy a PvE item that makes the next boss you kill drop a green weapon... as long as it costs 1-3 skill points to make, it'd be fair.
