Eye of the North - $9.99 at certain Target Stores!
Vilaptca
Just bought the last few off the shelf from my Target in Michigan.
And like above, it was newer and did not have a price cut tag, just all labeled as 9.99 like it had always been that price or something.
They did have a large chunk of PC games with price cuts though. I almost bought a few other games....

Boy oh boy! I've been playing this awesome game for four months now. Too many bills to own more than Prophecies and Factions... but if this current price cut is going on here in Minnesota, I'm sold!
Besides, I need something to motivate myself to get more of my characters to level twenty. I've only got one... the rest are in their teens. I usually get bored and delete them to make new ones.

Got one today! Thanks.

Does anyone know if Iowa is included in Target's generosity? If so, I might make a trip to pick up a copy for my wife's account this weekend.

This price drop isn't losing money for Target. It's a loss leader. If you buy GW:EN, then you have to buy one of the campaigns to go with it.

For example, when I went to the store to buy GW:EN, I also bought juice, Age of the Empires II, and a phone card. The money they lose on making profit from GW:EN was probablly of set by my impulse purchases (though I really did need the phone card).

the game is still overpriced
Kula
Just checked again today so it's not a price mistake, haha. Target must really want to get rid of these.

Thought it was weird that the other games were still more than GW:EN and they have been out forever.
stretchs
Confirmed price in both Chicagoland and St Louis areas this price was valid
Dronte
Any chance for a non-american to buy GW:EN for that price? :/
sevendash
Don't know, the tag was actually changed so that 9.99 is the permanent price now. Seems odd, but I bought it for my alternate account.

I can confirm the $9.99 price is in effect for both Targets in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The north store was sold out, but the south store still had at least 3 on the shelf as of last Friday night.
I also have a friend who picked it up for $9.99 from the Target store in Rochester, MN.
At all 3 of these stores, the price is posted by the GW boxes as a Price Reduction. There are price reductions on the other GW games too, but the drop isn't as large for the regular campaigns.

Hi, at one of my jobs I work at a Target. I also thought this was weird since all the other GW games we sell are $29.99 or $39.99 and have been out longer. I went into the inventory system and checked the status of GW:EN to find out what the deal with the $9.99 price is. It is not a sale. It is not a temporary price cut. It is a permanent price cut, and the game is not discontinued or clearance, so that's how much we (Target) will charge for it from now on, and we aren't going to stop carrying the game.
Enjoy!
LOL Sidenote: Tabula Rasa is a clearance game already at Target. Ouch XD

way to go target!!

Thank you, ducktape. My first reaction was that it was a mistake due to the extremity of the price drop. However, I kinda knew it wasn't clearance since I noticed the price didn't end with an '8' or '6' using the Target price checker. Years ago, I also used to work for a small department store/company called Mervyn's back when it was a sister store of Target. We even used to have employee discounts for each other. Our pricing scheme and inventory system (i.e. "common replenishment" using telxons) used to be very similar. I bet a lot has changed since then though.
Anyway, this post is really for anyone that missed out on EOtN for $9.99 because they were Sold Out at Target! Let me remind you that there are other store chains that carry this product AND have a Price Match guarantee. Circuit City and Best Buy are two that come to mind, but they have to be within driving distance to a local Target. I don't think they will price match to a Target that is 50 miles away!
The trick will be to convince them at customer service that Target is really selling it for that price. The only way this would've been guaranteed to work is if EOtN was advertised in the Target circular to show to them as proof, but since it isn't, they will have to call Target themselves to verify that EOtN is at $9.99 so that they could match it. It's a long shot but worth a try if willing to go the extra mile to save $20-$30.

IMPORTANT: If you can't get a hold of the game for 9.99 and your Target is only having a temporary sale, have them print a raincheck for you! Just hang onto that raincheck and whenever they get the game back in stock, you hand them that and you get the game for 9.99
Also, good advice from Kula, and last I knew it also applies to Wal-Mart. I hate Wal-Mart, they are the devil, and are one of the worst/stupidest companies I have ever worked for, but since they are they devil and will do anything to make an extra penny, they have that pricematch policy for competitors' prices and would have to sell you their copies of GW:EN for 9.99. Please run to Wal-Mart and cost them $30 in lost revenue many times over if possible XD
MisterT69
Now does anyone know if Target will be continually receiving more copies of EoTN at $9.99 or is this just to get rid of inventory. Because if there will be more copies supplied, then I gotta go get me one

i just got BMP off the shelf in a nearby Target store in New York. Confirmed as well. I wish it came to best buy -.- , wouldnt have to drive that far
MisterT69
About EoTN being 9.99 at a sale price...seems to me like it's more of a clearance price. I called 5 Target's around Chicago all sold out. And on Target.com, there's no EoTN on the website anymore. But they may just be waiting for more to come in stock, can anyone confirm that?
DJCoastal
Awww... too bad there isn't any Targets up here in Canada.
Someone... Buy me a copy and ship it to me? lol.

This is confirmed for New Hampshire. I got the last copy... And now, off to price-match, and ruin Best Buy employees' days!
