Well, it does seem a little unfair but IMHO you should have said that you were going to brb.
It is unfair imo, personally I don't see anyone giving a shit if you say brb, they would probably ignore it most of the time.

All I have to say is: A-B-U-S-E of report system

Reminds me of a joke (slightly modified for context):

So two players are sitting around the res shrine in Grenz.
Near the end of the match, one of the player's guildies respawns at the shrine.
The guy who's been sitting at the res shrine says "This guy here has to be the worst leach I've ever seen. He hasn't moved a muscle or said a peep the entire match."
The newly spawned guildly, confused, says "How can you be sure he didn't just walk off for a minute to blow his nose?"
His friend says "Well that's easy, I've been sitting right here watching him all round just to make sure!"

I find that people are way too trigger happy with /report.

Lots of times in AB I have seen people lose connection to the server, at which point they get reported

This is why I don't PvP anymore, sure there are some great people but 9 times out of 10 you will get a bunch of losers who have nothing better to do that grief you abusing the system. It got to the point that I was getting reported every game, cant go to the bathroom, cant walk over to the window and draw the blinds when its to bright, cant go to the fridge and grab a quick soda. Its pathetic how childish people get when they are losing.

Yeah, they do. If you disconnect, you still get Dishonor.

I heard so many excuses from Leechers and AFKers, but this is the first time I hear about a sneeze.

Anyways, if u have a legit reason to go afk say it in the team chat. "sry, BRB" doesn't take a lot of effort to type.

And BTW a good movie on TV is not exactly a good excuse to go afk, not a good reason for the rest of your team to suffer just coz u decided to watch a movie.

I wish they had a way of reporting Leeches for PvE as well.

Lighten up, Francis, it's only a video game. I'm annoyed by people who are too lazy to type out words like "you", but I'm not going to call you scum over it.

Unless you actually convey that you need to go afk, even if just to get a tissue, then how is everyone else to know?

I agree as someone who believes the report feature is a godsend for those of us who don't leech or quit cos got owned by enemy player etc...

I think this is to be expected that the lamers who do this will come out with some crap excuse or other for why they where leeching

If you genuinely are afk because something has happened in the real world at least say afk kitchen flooded or something otherwise expect to get reported.

I AB alot and see alot of the same players quittin or leechin and get called noob for reporting the leechers but if I dont report them and you dont either you will get more of leechers joining the game and ruining the game for those of us that want to play

Like it used to be sometimes where over half the teams where in base just leeching now the report function has reduced this but still some try it on and then come here to plead there innocence

If you didnt have the courtesy to inform your team mates that you had to -place lame excuse here - what do you expect

as for lag issues I also get that but just type lag and everyone understands

Also got told by a leecher he just disconnects net cable from his comp and he just gets a network error and thus avoids the dishonor system even if reported ...see how the determined leecher's mind works (not sure if this works but leeching player seemed to think so)

like all other scammers/thieves there are some who do anything to get something for free and then when caught come here to whinge at how unfair they been treated

If you'd do this shit before you went into a match, you wouldn't be getting reported for it. I mean honestly, does it take that much common sense to know that if you have to go to the bathroom to do it before you enter a match?

Did I say anything about having to attend to a kid or wear a diaper, no I didnt. But things like getting a drink, or using the bathroom can very easily be solved beforehand with little to no afterthought nor penalty in the game.

Having to stop something to attend to your kid, or an emergency that comes up is one thing. Stopping just to grab a slim jim (ok I lie these are probably the only exception to this rule), close your blinds, grab a drink, etc. should be taken care of before you go in.

but if you still feel it necessary to put your gaming on hold and basically grief the other players on your team by making them play at a handicap, then don;t bitch when someone reports you for leaving them otu to dry, even if it is for only a minute or two.

Sometimes when I see the sorts of things people on video game forums get apoplectic about, I wonder what the next few years of hiring are going to be like where I work.

I used to worry that younger generations were going to be more naturally skilled at technology and overtake me such that I'd lose my cushy IT position to some upstart whippersnapper. The internet has assuaged those fears quite handily thanks to silly things like this...

/ can't wait to see video game nerds putting their Guild Wars titles on their resumes...

It's a game. If you are that worked up, either about "dishonor" or leeching, you really need to look at those anger issues. Hmmm, I got dishonor. Golly, I guess I'll just have to do something else for however many MINUTES I'm banned. If you have snot issues, or gotta piss, screw it. Are you going to go all Cartman and get a pan to poop in because AB is so intense(Jesus, it's AB!)? If you have a leecher there, then look at it as a challenge. C'mon. With the quality of PvP in AB, it's not like being a man down matters.

To those who talk about their kids diapers or whatever... I would hope, no, I would PRAY, that a dishonor inconvenience is more than worth it to take care of your kid's real-life issues.

Kid's first memory of daddy: being passed to him in front of a glowing screen to be changed. Freaking nice Hallmark moment, that.

PvP is serious business? A few guys in the military, police, fire departments and emergency rooms might be able to enlighten you about "serious' business.

The first time you get dishonor it doesn't last long and it expires.

If you leech because you sneeze too hard or have to go do something, you still leech. Why should you get points while you're not even playing the game?

People are too quick to report in Alliance Battles, give the person a couple of minutes before you /report. I've gotten a disconnect from a random hiccough in my internet service, and I reconnect to see that I have been reported and we aren't even halfway through the game. GG.
