Alrighty, i've finally gotten to the point in the game im going to buy my final set of armor for my ranger. Now, what runes and insignias should I be using? I use almost all my skills are marksmanship and expertise, should i get a major rune for that? I have on my max armor a bunch of +10 hp and +10 armor insignia's and runes. Thats been working out fine because ive had to tank more then once. Any suggestions? Ive only got prophecies so thats why i use mainly marks & expertise.

P.S. Elite Druid armor is the best elite ranger armor of Prof!!

Well basically what you want to do (and this is just my opinion) is buy a major marksmenship +3, Superior Expertise +2 then you'll need to counter the health loss by using a rune of vigor (I'd suggest superior, unless you're loaded with plat).

Rune of Superior Vigor. +1 Marksmanship, Expertise and Wilderness Survival with a Vitae on the last armour slot.
Full Survivor.
I would consider 9/9/12 Marksmanship/Wilderness/Expertise split.

Runes depend on your build, but I personally wouldnt get a Superior rune unless its a vigor one.. Feel free to use a major one though, since you wont be taking too much damage..

As for the insigna's, I highly reccomended to get all radiant

Firsly, you got the "+2" and "+3" the wrong way around, also, a Superior AND a Major rune is far too much health loss.

I would go with all minor runes, unless you need to hit a breakpoint, in which case perhaps stretch to a major (or superior)...whichever you need.

It depends somewhat on your build, and what you want to do. My Ranger currently has:
Minor Marksmanship, Minor Expertise, Minor Beast Mastery, Superior Vigor, and a Vitae for Runes
For Insignias I have Survivor on head, hands, and feet, and Radiant on chest and legs.

I am saving to buy sup. vigor right now, have major.....Have +2 expert and +1 marks, 2 Vitae runes, and run "Stalwart" (+10 armor vs. physical) for insignias.

Find a way to make 1.5 sets out of that and you're set.

I do the "4 masks" route w/major runes for the corresponding attribute. I'm willing to lose the 35hp for a +3 on that line, but not the Superior health loss!

And I use a Superior Vigor. The rest is dependent on what I'm looking to do.

set up for pvp with your ranger char and that will own general pve.
all survivor insigs
sup vigor
head gear of what you want and a corrisponding minor rune
major rune of experties
that should work just fine

and you should still hit a little over 600 health.

thats what i like to try to run

if your ranger is male then elite druid is best one in proph but if she is female then elite druid is the best in all the games

I have one of each mask (with sup) and an extra expertise with minor. I have minor in Marks/Wilderness/Expertise and sup vigor on the rest. 1 norn set has that with the survivor insignias, and the ancient set is all radiant.
I've found that low health rangers *still* outlive almost everyone in a full partywipe.... but that could just be me, ymmv

heh, about to make a set of primeval as above but with earth armor insignias for OB tanking as well.

i agree with lennymon. a little lower heath wont hurt its energy that can be trouble sometines since rangers are second highest amor in proph. its once you venture to the other chapters that the rune and insignias become tricky play. having the altenative masks is a good way to go in proph so you can decide what either major or sup runes: damage (marksmanship), solo(marks or wilderness or exp depending on build/and where), using your pet a main damage(Beastmastery). correct me if im wrong here on the runes... i am getting rusty..with all the other chapters i have forgotten a bit of proph. (shame shame on me i know)

i did most of proph on my own with my ranger with henchies or running or soloing and experimenting. so toy with it, thats the fun of calculating your own formula in pve play.
