Infuriating Heat+Focused Anger
Richardt
So I was toying around a bit with some hero skills, and started thinking-how well would Infuriating Heat and Focused Anger synergize?
So the adrenaline gain is capped at a 100% (which FA gives over), but Infuriating Heat just doubles the rate of adrenaline gain.
So I got to thinking, would this combo be a way to get around the adrenaline cap?
I've done some testing tonight, and it seems to be the case, and I plan on doing some more testing.
Was wondering if anyone had any imput?

The best way to "get around the cap" is to use dark fury order spammer. Look in the hero sub forum for ractoths (dunno spelling sorry) paragon group. Dark fury just adds 1 extra adrenaline gain so it works with focused anger.
Richardt
Yes that does work, but I want to do something different.

Double adrenaline is another way of saying +100%.
Arkantos
They don't stack, just tested it.
Richardt
Well....yeah. That's kinda a given
But my question is how does this translate into the GW mechanics?
So, for the sake of argument, lets say I get one strike of adrenaline. With FA, that gets turned into 2 strikes. Now, does the GW skill engine recognize that it's already been doubled via FA, and thus ignoring Heat, or does it read Heat as "ignoring" 100% and then redoubles it to 4 strikes?
'Cause I know that GW can be picky about semantics-for instance consider the diff. between "taking" and "dealing"-they both mean the same thing, but in terms of GW, one ignores armor and the other doesn't-which is a big difference.

Basically the cap of adrenaline gain is 100%. Nomatter what you do it can't boost it more then that. However if you had a hex on you that reduced adrenaline gain it would still have the other increase it up to that 100%.
Richardt
Thanks Arkantos for testing this with me!
I have to agree...doesn't seem to stack. At first I thought I was seeing some increased adrenaline gain, but must just be the pain killers I'm on for my wrist XD

Dark Fury and Mark of Fury are going to be the only ways of ignoring the cap so to speak. In theory with the two combined with a 100% skill you could get 6 strikes with a single attack.
Richardt
Are those pretty much the only ways?
I'm not opposed to hauling someone around with either Necro primary or secondary.....but I do that on my tank and I kinda want to have a different team setup on my para-variety is the spice of life
So I'm experimenting to find ways to get some good synergy going down lol.

What about Anthem of Fury?

not in the sense that we are talking about here. We are talking about 'click it and leave it', over duration skills here.
If someone were to use Anthem of Fury, yes, you would end up getting double adrenaline from that. Same thing with any Direct Gain skills.
Man, FA and Mark of Fury... we're talking insane adrenal gain here :P it's really too bad FA can't be upkept with a necro secondary, or my Imbagon would rock :P
EDIT: Then again, I can always throw Mark of Fury on a necro... only needs three points to keep up indefinitly.

Kale Ironfist
Warrior w/ Mokele Smash, Enraging Charge @ 17+ Strength, affected by "For Great Justice!", affected by Anthem of Fury @ 18+ Leadership, affected by Dark Fury, hitting a target with Mark of Fury.
What does that equal? Wasted time and adrenaline, since the highest cost skill is 10 strikes.

Racthoh probably meant maintainable adrenaline gain. Anthem of Fury is 'only' one spike every 10 seconds.
Richardt
Anthem of Fury.....hmmm.....certainly worth a try.
Since this was originally intended to go on a hero w/o Para prim. I was staying away from Leadership skills (for obvious reasons ).
But I think I can modify one of my P/ Hero builds to work with a /P and have that other hero take Anthem of Fury.
Thanks guys! Given me a lot to think about here.
EDIT: I was thinking of ways for it to be a continous adrenaline boost, but I'm gonna see what a spike of Adrenaline gain can do.

Mark of fury is target specific, so it's a bit unwieldy, unless you plan on not killing things.

I like it better then Dark Fury though, in the sense that a 10 recharge is managable. just macro it and blank it out on a hero's bar and cast it yourself. Chances are, if your target dies before you benefit from it, your doing a good job anyhow. At least in PvE (still with my imbagon in mind )

My mind was off in other places, I was just thinking of skills that granted one strike without thinking of all the others already in the game. Mokele Smash, To The Limit!, Make Your Time, etc etc.

I donno, if Anthem of Fury wassn't elite I'd use it. Sure it's good on a melee heavy team as support, but I'd rather center a PvE build around something a bit more worthwhile. I mean, in the time it takes Anthem of Fury to recharge, you'd have -easily- made more adrenaline by other means.
I suppose it depends on if you like 'on demand' or 'over time' gain.

I'm still not sure which one I'd prefere yet.
I'm kinda curious which one will end up being better in the end. From the sounds of it I'm liking Anthem over Mark as it seems to be a compromise between Dark Fury and Mark of Fury. However, it's an elite shout, so I'll have to make adjustments around that.
Certainly has given me a lot to think about

Certainly has given me a lot to think about In the long run, you'll get more out of 'over time' adrenaline gain.
