Hi, ive recently just swapped from playing WoW to GW as wow is too repetivite and too much grinding, which i here GW isnt

Just wanted to ask a few questions...

Ive got Prophecies and the addon pack eye of the North.

Can you only make a PvP character once you hit 20, but you can make/delete pvp characters as you want ?

Which is the most needed class in pvp ?

Also can you play your pve character on pvp ? or are they two seperate things.

And is it better to have a damage dealer for PVE, or are healers needed for instances.

Sorry for noobish questions, but answers much appreciated!!

Hey, welcome to GW ^^

- You can make a PvP charrie anytime, and delete it anytime

- Depends on what you want to do in PvP. But I would say good monks are always wanted

- Yes, you can, but only when they reach lvl 20

- In PvE, all classes (except maybe mesmer) are wanted, it depends stronly on the area you are in.

The beauty of GW is, that unlike WoW, you dont have to play only one character (Well, in WoW technically also, but most players only have 1, as far as I have seen). You can make one characted of every class. When you start playing, you will automatically see what charrie you like the most. In general, there is a place for every class

i like the idea of that very much

because in WoW i leveled a character to 70 and then realised it was the wrong and most boring class for me, and i didnt want to go through it all again.

So is this game PVP > PVE or about even.

Depends what you like the most I started out as PvE only, but after 18 months, I finally got bored with PvE, and discovered the world of PvP, which is a whole different kind of play. So again, try them both and do what you like best

p.s. if you have ingame question, you can whisper me on Tosha Daydreamer

Unless it was changed recently, you don't need to be level 20 to enter GvG. I recall many a level 10 that I spiked down.

in general the best place for reading up on anything is "http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page"

But, you can get your basic builds from "http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page",

Oh and, it would prolly make things easier in terms of learning curve/ skill unlocks ( you'll find out abt that as soon as u make a PvP Character), it would prolly save you some effort if you played and finished the PvE campaign first. AFAIK, its less grindy than WoW, and it really just feels like playing through the story mode of any Rts/Fps, spare the fact that you can play it with any1 else in the outpost.

Best place is wiki i guess: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page there is also official wiki.

You can also simply learn by doing: try some Random arena which is lowest form of PvP.

You might want to get one character throught PvE to get some unlocks (Skill, item mods, runes) to get you started a bit.

So if i dont get a character all the way through PVE, will my PvP character be lower skilled, with items and runes ect ?

Yeah unless you PvP with bad skills and runes and items then unlock them with the faction you make. PvE helps you unlock things too. I'd recommend going through the game a bit first.
