The "no lucky drops thread"

Am I the only person here who doesn't get a wonderful drop at least once a month? Sometimes I just feel that luck is against me and I'll have to buy anything rare that i'll ever want because I will never come across it in my travels.

over 1,100 hours logged in over the 3 years i played this game and the last big drop i had worth over 10k was.... either when IDS came out (LONG time ago)... or... about 2 years ago when i got a good moded chaos axe.

I dunno my heart just sinks more and more the more I play I've done every dungeon in nm and only have 1 left in hm (shards), what do I have to show for it really? i sold the soulwailer for 10k and that was it. I am with other people and i watch them get polymock drops and all that wonderful stuff...

but me? I have the WORST luck in this game, i have NEVER EVER gotten a sup vig rune in the 31 months i have been playing. of the tons of gold runes i found, never EVER gotten a sup vig.

You know you have a great drop and your eyes light up going "OMG YES!" "WOW!".... i haven't had that feeling in a "very" long time.

edit: funny, when I want onyx and stuff from chests i don't get jack, and when i finally finish duncan HM and dont WANT onyx (obviously wanting like a spear or something) i get 2 onyx and a diamond :\

as said, i haven't been lucky since at LEAST early 2006.

I'm actually depressed :\ i mean it would be nice to stumble across something really nice and valuable every once in a great while... I mean yesterday I come across a gold enameled shield with +30 hp..... req 13... omg my heart sank like a stone in water. My main is a dervish and I don't have any warriors really, so i grab the +30 mod and the rest is merch food. *sigh*

Anyone else feel this way?

Maybe that's where the problem is. You have 'only' played 1100 hours, while I, like many others, have over 5000 hours of playingtime. Play more, get more!

granted, but note until eotn came out I was only at 400-500 hours. ever since eotn came out I been on as much as possible the last few months.

Hmm....I am with you. In 4,940 hours of playtime in 26 months(i just did the /age emote) I have gotten 3 sup vigs since playing. Don't feel bad. Now i do get a ton of perfect mods I sell and a few rare skinned items. I also used to get a ton of greens when they would sell for alot and I did that kind of thing. Like when ghials and scar eater sold for 25-30k.

Most of my money has come from running and farming an area and selling the merch fodder over and over. As well as farming ectos and shards.

mm almost 3 years 2300hours item that i did get most was worth 30k.. yeah i get all money hfff and quests cause i dont farm hardly.

7k hours, the best drop I had in let's say.. maybe 6 months is a sup vigor rune, got it a couple days back. 13k at trader.

My last 100k+ drop was over a year and a half ago. I'm not extra lucky on drops... most of my cash comes from farming anyways.

Only had the one good drop myself req9 15^50 Fellblade sold for 600k back in the day

1700 hours in 30 months.

I'm not that lucky either... two of the four my most recent gold weapons that dropped didn't have a suffix. Two of them were also req 13.

Whaaa.... I thought I couldn't get any drops until this happened 2.5 years ago... But in general, this game's drops blow.

Same boat as the OP. I don't get any big items, just lots of little ones that take way too long to sell. That, in combination with no patience for selling, makes for little money for Katsumi.

oh thats right, I never gotten a superior absorption rune either.

To get stuff you have to put in the hours. It is that simple. People who play more, generally get more.

bah 2800 hrs 18 months best thing i got was a mini mallyx out of a coffer.

I miss the strongbox so much Every run was like unwrapping presents with Christmas: something really good from your parents or something really bad from that weird aunt with that squeaky voice.

My best drop ever is something like a sup vigor I guess..never got anything super rare. Altho the first time I bought me a coffer of whispers, a mini mallyx came out .
But that's all, in 3200 hours over the past 15 months

2000 hrs + best drop was req.8 perfect gothic sword..... and a fluke of a weapon right before factions came out, a +5 nrg axe that sold 100k plus

So many days spent farming/chest running have gotten me nothing...

And to think, I thought I was the only one having trouble with drops. Only greens I can get to drop are Totem Axes (10). In 27 months 4000+ hours, a few black dyes and a couple of major Vigors. Let's see, 10 characters, 5 with Grotto Armor, same 5 with bought greens, all rest using grapes. I guess doing ok though, 171k in storage.

Yea I know how you feel all of the "rares" i've obtained had to be purchased myself nothing of significant value has ever ever dropped for me.

The highest value item i've ever gotten was rago's flamewand back when it was still worth around 25-30k. I went and sold it to a guildie for 20k giving him "guild discount", he went and resold it a month later for 30k >_<

I've also gotten a sup vigor a couple of months ago but I mean their value has crashed substantially so I only sold it for about 15k.

Just last month i decided to get into some coffer of whispers for the first time, i had been farming like crazy and built up comfortable level of gold. Went and bought 5 coffer of whispers at a price of 16k each, thats a total of 80k. I'm thinking, "ok here we go i'm bound to get something worth something."

Heres pretty much what transpired when I opened them and my thoughts.
Open the first one.... 5 scrolls of the lightbringer >_<... ok whatever thats to be expected, open the 2nd one... 5 scrolls of the lightbringer... O_o... /sigh ok thats ok whatever. Open the 3rd one... 5 sapphires ok not bad... i'll almost break even on this one. Open the 4th one... 5 diamonds I think WOW... thats just... incredible but whatever I realized ahead of time the coffer would be gambling. Open the very last one praying for something... 5 scrolls of the fricken lightbringer now i'm pissed off and thinking ARGH.

Going over everything out of 5 coffers got:

15 scrolls of the lightbringer worth ~ 14k
5 sapphires worth ~15k
5 diamonds worth ~ 4k
Total value ~ 33k, loss of ~47k

In the end thats fair chunk of change, nothing to really get upset about but still a pretty disheartening event.

I don't even want to think about how much gold i've wasted on the zaishen chest getting cremee brulees and flasks of firewater

Never had anything drop worth more than that. Granted I've only played for a year and a half with just over 1000 hrs but still it gets pretty disheartening to open a chest and get some crap gold.

Was a req 8 15^50 chaos axe back before Factions which sold for a fair amount. Other than that would've been the odd superior absorption and vigor when they were 100k each.
