Yep.

In-game and on the wiki. Those should be the only places I need to go if I want info on lore.

Never really been a fan of video-game related fiction though...

Movie, real image series and/or anime.

Any other medium would be plain boring and depend too much in a single author.

A Uwe Boll movie, just to see how horrible his movie based on a game with a horrible storyline could be.

Video game (eh)... if not, probably the fanfiction/novel/novella-type thing. Exclude the NPCs please. I play the story, I should be the main character, and there's so many main characters to choose from (all the players) that IMHO, should be better if the players would make the adaptation. Thus fanfiction... or well, a BOOK, to give a more... "definite" reply.

No, I don't wanna see a movie, novel or whatever thing where Mehnlo or Togo's the main char and we're just sidekicks.

Ive said it many times.

Guild Wars has so much room for backstories, you could have countless novels based on the universe.

QFT!

To be honest, GW only works as a video game in my opinion.

They could release GW Swords and Axes on standees instead of Varesh Ossa e.g.. Or Elementalist/Ritualist wnderbras.

Until GW gets a better and more gripping plot then in the past, I vote “no” on all other mediums. I hate to say it but the Warcraft series has better plot elements at times.

Like all media it has to go beyond the "game" to varying degree's.

A novel can add incredible depth and exploration only touched on in game.

A movie "could be" good depending on the writers and the plot. It probable tend to follow the main plot line, with Hollywood tweaks.

Comics have great creative freedom due to it's medium and has a lot potential.

as nice as it would be to get more guild wars than Anet is capable of putting out (they can only make a game so fast) I think the best would be a book/graphic novel. They already have an author doing all the writing for the gw universe. When his job slows down with that as we get closer to the release of GW2 he can work on a book that explains how Tyria went from the world that it was to the world that it will be in the 200 years difference in the games.

Nothing, if GW wants to be great- it needs to avoid all of those money traps. Did you ever hear of a Half Life movie? NOPE, Deus Ex? NOPE

Thats how I feel, Anet did a good job of leaving the backstories open so one can experiment with it.
