A lvl 8 you dont need to grind just follow the main storyline.

IF you have run out of quests then its time to move to the next area. Did you do the dojo or the minister chos mission yet? Or have you gone to Seitung yet?

You leave the monastery after you complete the storyline.

Factions points are earned in PVP. You can make a lvl 20 PVP char if you have an extra slot.
There is also Luxon/Kurzick faction which can be gotten from pve quests or pvp battles.

You'll learn new skills once you get to the main island.

No auction house, you just gotta spam.

there is an auction section to these forums u can register with and sell your items.

you don't earn faction points in traditional pvp arenas u have to have access to a guildhall so u can talk to the alliance battles guy you earn faction in alliance battles(AB) as either a luxon or kurzick depending on what faction guild you join.

just follow the quest line and u will eventually leave the beginner island and hit kainang city.guildwiki http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page is a good places where you can find most info u need about the game.
you can add me ign: Gwen Leader of Whak in game and i will continue to help you with questions you might have.

good luck with your game

You don't have to grind for experience. As you've started in Factions, you'll find yourself levelling up very quickly and should hit the level cap by the time you reach the third mission.

If you've run out of quests, it's time to move forwards. Check with Master Togo in Linnok Courtyard - if you've chosen your secondary profession, he will give you a quest that leads to the first mission. Also, check in with your Headmaster after you've chosen your secondary profession; they will have some more advanced training for you and get you started in the dojo.

Keep following the sequence of primary quests and missions. You will be able to cross to the mainland after you complete the second mission.

To travel to the other continents, you will need to travel to Kaineng Center (travel due north after you reach the mainland and you'll find it easily). if you have other campaigns on your game account, you will find some quests there that will let you unlock travel to the other continents.

Balthazar faction is earned by playing any form of PvP. Most PvP is only open to level 20 characters, however there is a small arena that can be accessed from the Monastery that is open to lower level players (up to level 10).

Later in Factions, you will be able to earn Luxon and Kurzick faction by taking part in Alliance Battles or doing local quests.

After you've chosen your secondary profession, talk to your Headmaster again and get started with the dojo quests. You can learn a few more skills from these. After that, you will need to talk to skill trainers and buy any additional skills that you want.

There isn't an official auction house, no. There is an auction system here on Guru though, which you may want to check out at some point.

Also once you get to kaineng center there are at least a dozen or more side quests in the area that will allow you to level up quickly. I rerolled my warrior on Saturday and i hit level 20 in a little under 4 hours from start to finish.
