I've been trying out a lot of MMORPGs lately. I used to play WoW, and I'm sure I will again, but at the moment there hasn't been any new or interesting solo/small-group content added to the game. I'm not a raider, and the endless gear grind at the end of the game is an insult to all the fantastic quests experienced before the endgame. I've gotten tired of rerolling.
After trying tons of MMORPGs, I remembered Guild Wars. I haven't heard much about it, to be honest, but I remembered it was there. So, on a whim, I purchased all three of the campaigns. I'm enjoying the game thus far. I have some questions now that I have a few hours of experience.
1) Does the campaign your character started in limit the quests he can take if he travels to the continents of other campaigns? I started a Prophecies character. When I travel to the lands of Factions and Nightfall, will I be able to do most quests or will I be shut out?
2) Am I missing anything not having Eye of the North from the start? Could I get a rough estimate of the level in which I'd start missing out on Eye of the North equipment/quests/content?
3) I notice there are Roleplaying Characters and PvP Characters. Does this mean Roleplaying characters can't PvP at all and PvP characters can't do PvE questing at all?
4) I've already figured out that Ascalon is going to be destroyed - What level should I be before I jump to the future?
5) I'm a warrior/monk right now. Will I be able to solo well? If there are any other good solo classes, I would like to know. I like being self-dependent in MMOs because I'm often called away from my computer for some reason or another.
Thanks for the help. I'm loving the game so far.
