Suggestion for SoI
Lishy
Ever use SoI and you accidentally cast illusion spells and it wastes?
Well, I have an idea.
How about instead of spells getting bonuses from illusion magic, it could be NON-illusion magic spells.
That way we can still use clumsiness and follow up with an ether nightmare.
Nothing too big or imbalanced for the game.Just makes things easy to manage :P

Too nitpicky, IMO. Just manage what you use better.

/notsigned, too pointless.

Hmm... an interesting point/idea.
However, SoI is fine. A good gimmickie mesmer elite as is. A mesmer is all about timing anyway, so it fits well with the play style. /notsigned

i used Echo yesterday fighting Shiro, looking to cast pain inverter twice in a row...but activated I Am Unstoppable! first by accident...maybe Echo should only copy Pain Inverter?

There are some skills out there that don't get wasted when you follow with a wrong skill type, for example you can spam non-spell skills all the way with a [Glyph of Lesser Energy] active, and you don't lose the ability to cast your next 2 spells cheaper (it got wasted upon using a nonspell in the old beta times, if I remember correctly).
But there are also skills you have to be careful about what you cast after them, like [Arcane Echo] - use a nonspell and it's wasted (unless they changed it recently).
So it's unclear whether a skill is fool-proof or not, the skill description doesn't help in determining that. So you have to test all yourself and after knowing that use some skills with more caution than others. It's all about player skill afterwards.
There would be nothing wrong with this suggested change, it would just make playing those gimmicky SoI builds easier. Is that needed?
I don't /sign an idea I feel is not really needed but I also don't /notsign if it doesn't hurt some important game aspect or isn't just downright stupid.

I have better suggestion. Game should read your thought and activate skills before you think about using them!!

I think it's a good idea.
Looks like the OP got flamed because of the reason he wanted it to changed.

freaky naughty
The skill change itself is reasonable, the reason why though, isn't.
