Eye of the North expansion
matty-w
before i buy this can sum1 please tell me if i need a certain campaign or to have completed one of them? i only have nf is this ok?

Nadasee
All you need is the first Guild Wars game Prophecies since Eye of the North is the expansion to it.
(Nightfall and Factions have 1 quest each that takes you to EotN, BUT you still need the first GW game Prophecies)
So, No you can't play it.
You do not have to complete Prophecies before you can play EotN. But you have to get to Lions Arch in order to get the quest that takes you to EotN.

thanx for this m8 but i will have to buy that aswell tho...

No problem
Yeah, but in my opinion you only win on it. Prophecies is the best of the GW games and with EotN you gain even more to the world. (in my opinion)
Good luck on your choice

actually you dont need to have prophecies at all you need is either nightfall factions or prophecies and seeing how you have nightfall you got the requirement. so dont go out and buy prophecies if you dont want it

You don't need Prophecies, NF is enough. See the FAQ:

Do I need to own a copy of one of the previous Guild Wars campaigns in order to play Guild Wars: Eye of the North?
Yes, because Eye of the North is an expansion rather than a new campaign—and because it is intended for your high-level characters—you need to own at least one of the Guild Wars campaigns—Guild Wars (the original campaign), Guild Wars Factions, or Guild Wars Nightfall—in order to play Guild Wars: Eye of the North.

Yeah what they say is true. Who would have guessed...
Look'd it up again http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Eye_of_the_north
So, oddly you can play EotN with Nightfall if you like. Not sure how that works but, yeah.

You do not have to own Prophecies to play Eye of the North. You only need at least one of the previous chapters either Nightfall, Factions or Prophecies.

I wonder, how do you get to GW:EN without going through LA?

I have an account that has Nightfall and Factions that I bought Eye of the North for. It works just fine without Prophecies as suggested by the others here.

To get there via Factions, you go through a quest from Kaineng Center.
