Question About 2 Professions...

Hi, I'm new to Guild Wars. I just ordered the game online and have yet to play it for the first time. I come from WoW, where there was no secondary Profession (or Class rather, in their case), so it is something completely new to me.

I was just wondering, if I chose to be a Mesmer, could I choose Ranger as a Secondary and still be able to have a pet? Is that even a good idea - Mesmer and Ranger combined? If not, then I guess I could always have a Ranger as a second character.

So which Secondary Professions would go well with a Mesmer in your opinions?

Yes you could have a pet with /R

Me/R wouldnt be too effective really..

Me/E is nice..for Energy Management and such. (Or fast cast nuking )

As you can see, there may be some better options out there, depending on your play style.

And don't play fast cast nuker. Everytime someone does, a kitten is killed.

I read somewhere that a Ranger and a Necromancer go well together. If I have a second character that's a Ranger, should I choose that as a Secondary?

You can change your secondary profession as your char progresses. So it doesnt matter to much what you choose in the first place.
