Do Shouts Stack?

I was just wondering whether shouts stack. E.g. would the skills "I Am Unstoppable" and "Shields Up" give me +48 armor overall as they give me +24 armor each.

Also, does using a shout whilst another shout is active cancel the one that was active out?

There's an armour cap on armour stacking skills. So you'd only get +24 armour even if both were on you at the same time.

Shouts stack, but armor bonuses do not stack beyond +25.

Well, in a game where farming is the main income resource of every character, You really can't allow armor bonuses to stack since there would be a rise the amount of farming builds. In a PvE-Specific sense it doesn't make sense, singular skills are an exception to this rule..



Skills like [skill]Armor of Earth[/skill] Will skill offer the +XX amount of armor, even if it exceeds 25. This could be considered a way to compensate armor stacking, but the stacking limitation disallows all professions except elementalist from having excessive amounts of armor, thus preventing a rise in farming builds. The stacking limit can of course be counter by damage reduction skills such as:


[skill]Life Bond[/skill] or [skill]Mantra of Earth[/skill] To name a few..

Armor bonuses will stack up to a certain point (+25), after which the highest bonus is used.

Thus if you used Stand Your Ground with Watch Yourselves, you're team would only get +25. But if you used Save Yourselves, your team would get +100. Also, the armor stacking nerf doesn't include bonus' from armor-so if your armor gives you +20, that doesn't count towards the +25.

As for multiple shouts, so long as they're different, you can as many as you like on you at a time.

The reason armor from skills doesn't stack is because it would break the game. You could easily SY WY SYG and your entire party would be taking zero damage, and nobody would be playing anything but paragons.
