I have been playing a Prophecies El/Mo and dig it a lot. I have all three campaigns and EotN, and want to make a character in each of the other two campaigns. I plan to roll a Paragon/Ritualist in Nightfall, but am not sure about my character for Factions.

I am considering rolling a Warrior/Assassin, but need some advice. If I do roll a W/A, is it feasible to focus on Dagger Mastery so that I can use the chain attacks? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks and good fotune.

You can't make a P/Rt right off the bat. Rt and A are Factions-specific start classes, like P and D are Nightfall-specific. However, once you have finished building the Sunspear hideout place, you can change your secondary and thus be P/Rt.

As for your W/A idea, if you specifically want it to specialise in dagger mastery to chain attacks, why not just make an A/? which would allow even further specialisation with runes.

if you wish to run dagger chains probs best to just play 'sin....then can run a "mobius? attack chain" with the 'sin SS skill I believe it is focusing on critical hits etc...easier to play the primary profession for atks - daggers on 'sin sword on war.....just my views...

stick to the primary ability!

Leader-Legion of Avalon [LoA] Alliance-Recruiting PM for info!

I would check out the Campfire section here on Guru-read the basics for each class and then proceed from there.

Before I made my Paragon I hung out there for a couple days seeing whats what and getting ideas for a build. And when I get around to making a Mesmer, I plan on doing the same thing.

As for what class, you can always try 'em all out-if you don't like it, you can always delete or turn them into a storage character.

I've never tried it, so I'm not sure.

I think the biggest thing you'll run into is energy cost, since warriors don't get energy from crits, and dagger skills don't use adr.

There might be something I'm overlooking though.

It is indeed feasible, as I made a fun R/A dagger build a while back. You'll see many professions using /A builds, some of them very deadly, while others lacking in damage. It all depends on how well the primary profession can use skills to add damage to the chain attacks of the Assassin considering they cannot deal as much damage as a primary Assassin can. I can't off the top of my head think of any Warrior skills that would add damage to the chain but there are a few attack speed skills you can most likely benefit from. I do know a couple A/W's who use Tiger Stance, for example.

And the above post is correct as well, the energy cost might be a bit much for a Warrior. You can use skills like Critical Eye to gain energy and a Zealous-modded dagger set but you might still run into some issues.

yes it is better in a pve standpoint for dagger master to stay all on sins but my guildies have made some nice r/a and w/a builds the r/a was daggers but the w/a one was mostly axe with some son builds to make the warrior build better

You definately won't have the energy to run daggers with a warrior.

Now, a melee class is a lot of fun to play. I like both my sin and my warrior more then my dervish (though I'm still a caster at heart).
I'd say try a sin in factions. After all, a sin can ONLY be made in factions, but a warrior can be made anywhere, so if you try it out and realize that you like your sin, but don't like the factions tutorial area, that is okay. If you later choose to make a warrior you can then start him off somewhere else.
If you do it the other way around and make a warrior in factions first and hate factions, you'll have to play factions again when you make a sin.

R/A works due to expertise reducing the E cost of the attack skills. However warrior wont have an energy management that would be needed to chain together 3 attacks really quickly, and would run out of Energy half way through the 2nd chain. Also assassins have 4 pips of energy regen and warriors only have 2. If you use a zealous mod, now you only have 1 pip of regen. You also wont have access (for the most part) to the assassins usual energy management of critical strikes giving Energy.

Usually W/A use the assassin accessory skills - teleports, quick recharge heals, and deadly/shadow arts stuff. But give it a go and you might come up with a good build, and let me know it would be fun to see my warrior running with daggers or brass knuckles.

In regards to making a P/Rt, first you need to do making the base quests to be able to change 2ary professions. Then I believe you need to take your P/? over to Factions and get down to Senjis Corner to unlock the Rt 2ary for you paragon. I dont believe it will be available at first from the 2ary profession changer in NF.
