If I am correct pets evolve at lv 11. I spent hours training my moa bird from lv 3 to be an aggressive pet. After he reaches lv 11 he does not evolve. I even switch areas and he doesnt evolve. I have spent several hour and I am very irritated about this.

Please Help!

Maybe keep doing what you are doing since the final evolution is lvl 15. Also i think typing /petname petname, resets the pet name and would state the evolution... I think.

Sometimes a pet might take an extra level to evolve. If he hasn't evolved by lvl 13, he may not evolve at all or may adopt the Elder evolution (which you won't see until level 20).

And Wirt is right about resetting the pet's name

It may be possible he didnt evolve and stayed. He didnt take enough damage to be playful, but didnt do enough damage to be aggressive?? Its possible that at lvl 15, if you keep up with the pet dealing damage and taking little, the evolution may be only up to aggressive, not dire.

I remember when I was evolving my pet i had some difficulty at first. Would you mind posting your pet evolving build? Or state the skills you are using to evolve him?

i am using charm pet, comfort pet, call of defense, call of haste, fatal lunge, otyguh's [sp?] cry, symbiotic bond, and stormchaser

i know they evolve because ive evolved a moa before but i will keep training him, so if he is elder he wont even be aggressive before that [at lv 20] or what?

Correct. If he ends up evolving to elder, he won't be aggressive or playful. He won't get any damage bonuses from being Dire but won't gain any health from being Hearty. It's like the middle ground in pet evolution.

Don't forget though, sometimes pets evolve a level or two late.

1. where is a good place to train him now, i was training in ascalon but now he is too high a lv for exp there?

2. curious, if i get the 5 hr free trial of eye of the north, can i tame a pet there? if i can do you get to keep it after the 5 hrs?

1. I assume you arent at lvl 20 yet with your character and dont have access to the elite pet attack. That elite skill makes it much easier to lvl him to dire. A good place to train him is at Gates of Kryta against the wavebreakers (sp?) and margoyles. Remember have him take as little damage as possible but give as much damage as possible. He needs to be doing the majority of your damage, so put no points in marksmanship.

Degen from your ranger can help kill the bad guy, but doesnt go towards party damage. You can help out killing with degen, but let the pet do the direct damage.

You may have known this, but I hope it helped.

2. Not sure about trial pets.

All of this has been covered repeatedly in the ranger forum. Search there.

Since you only have Prophecies, there's only one elite pet attack to capture:
