Male and Female animation timings exactly the same?
Solange
female warrior and male warrior
they have different animations when casting and when attacking and i'm wondering if the timings are EXACTLY the same when performing such actions?
The male warrior seems faster than female warrior but its only from visually looking at it when attacking and such...female warrior also seems to cast faster
Just from my perspective....
anyone notice anything like that?

And this has what to do with PvP?

anyone notice anything like that? less pixelfapping.

It actually wouldn't be hard for someone to find out how many frames there are in the attack sequence. At least for someone with the skills to look at that sort of thing.
If the frames are identical, it should be identical. If not, it doesn't mean they aren't still identical, as one might have a few more "wait" frames before the next attack.

/request lock or move to warrior section. It has nothing to do with pvp and why should it its a question and its in the questions and answers section.
Now I don't know how you think this works but I will give a stab at it.
Someone asks a question and someone tries to answer the question
I think here the underlining thought is do different sexes have different attack or casting speeds based on the time needed to perform each animation sequence.
That I would have thought would have equal impact on pvp and pve so if we arn't certain of the answer maybe it should be looked into.
Hi Aera
Thanks for the new word in my vocabulary, Pixelfapping I like that one.

It was most likely moved from the PvP section as people tend to post in the wrong forums, and others are quick to pick up on this.
As for the animations, most classes have the same animations, however I believe the Warrior and Ranger classes may be the exception when it comes to preperation and casting animations (I believe it has been mentioned somewhere before).
Also, I'd go with the inhuman stop-watch, but then again I think you're being a bit nit-picky (I do it occasionally aswell).

My theory:
Casting and attack times are the same for male and female of a given profession. If this weren't true, the hard core PvP'ers would have noticed it a long time ago and there would be only one sex of each profession being played in PvP.

OOPS !
My apologies to Shuuda I didn't consider that this might have been moved from pvp.
I often see when things are moved out of an area but there isn't a message saying its been moved into an area.
Thus I did an impersonation of a sarchastic flaming troll.
Sorry

No worries from me Gremlin, but you may have to explain to Shuuda. I just wish mods could make a tiny note saying when a thread is moved (and why), it could prevent many people looking like Asshats >.<
Also, I agree with Quickmonty on the casting thing, many people seem to like to grab onto any advantage they can take, however slight, and not just in PvP.

Casting animations have to be the same, or at least very close. It only makes sense.
I believe the female warrior animations have more flare to them, like the multi-second cast in which she twirls her weapon and raises it. I think the male warrior has some boring thing in which he does nothing but raise his weapon, which makes it appear shorter.

I always enjoy the female Rit 'between the legs' move with her staff.
Eldin
Both male and female rits seem to use their staffs in a really odd, yet cool way. Be funny if one of em fell over when attempting that though.

in gw .... female > male.... to my liking because rather stare at a sexy chick than a fat wammo
Thorondor Port
Im pretty sure they match the animations to meet the required time. If the spell says 1 second, but males cast it at 1.25 seconds, why would you roll a male character?
I have no evidence that the above is true im just going off logic.

Fungus Amongus
Does the animation matter when it's the action that counts? Have you watched a pet attack before? That's some real animation not matching the action.
Biostem
I always assumed that the devs created 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2... second animations for each gender of each profession, and simply used that animation as the skill dictated. How else could they allow a warrior from prophecies to choose ritualist as his or her secondary, other than making use of the already existing stock animations? I mean, whether it's a 1-second fire magic spell or a 1 second curses spell, don't they use the same animation? It just so happens that when they made, for instance, the ritualist, they gave them more dramatic gestures for 3 and 5 second cast time spells, than warriors, thus making it look more dramatic when they cast binding rituals...
Racthoh
It's when the numbers appear that matter. You'll notice warriors sometimes swing twice in in their animation but only make one set of numbers appear.
