Henchmen information
Dronte
I was thinking about some ingame information about henchmen, like if you right click on one, a window like this would pop-up (2 min PS work, yea I know its lame):
Imo it'd be very useful, it could also mention the HP and energy of the henchman.
Just an idea.

Its a little overdue, but a good idea.

I also think you should be able to control henchmen like the heroes (i.e. click a number by their name and control their skill bar)

i've yet to see a semi-decent idea on GwGuru posted for quite some time and this isn't too shabby. would be interesting.
BUT
a suggestion, instead of having to hover over their name or w/e, to see their skillbar / energy, you would have to press "p" for party search and then goto some new panel named "henchman info" or whatever witty name you can think of (saves having to find them on the map and such. i, personally, add heroes via "party search"). ^^

This would be nice especially for some Faction areas where you get the choice of 2 or 3 necro or mesmer henchies.

you should be able to see everything like heros (same way with button next to name) but not be able to control it. This way you can see what they are casting.

When you 'talk' to a henchman they always popup a dialogue.
Why not add a dialog option to that popup window?
* What can you do?
Click in the option, and ding, they popup a panel with a description or wisper you their skill bar with a template.

Really, pretty dang simple. Mithran explained the specifics perfectly. Just show it in the templetes.

We know our heroes' setups, and pretty much everyone asks you to ping your own setups, the henchies have to come clean with us too. I also want to prove that rumor that Alesia has 4 in Healing Prayers. :P
Another thing I'm for is that, if you call your health/energy or DP/morale, so do your henchmen, like this.
Joe Schmoe: My health is 476 of 491.
Devona: My health is # of #.
Joe Schmoe: I have 15% Death Penalty!
Alesia: I have 60% Death Penalty!
And so on, though it might flood the chat. Maybe make the henchmen only report it every X seconds or so to avoid that.

I say no.
The resources that would be put into this could be better used elsewhere.
Most henchies already have a discription of their build like Cynn[fire henchman] and Herta[earth henchman].
That gives you a rough idea of what they do. And it was meant to be that way.
Theres always the wiki for details.

While my normal response would be F10, that can often be pretty non user-friendly

A simple whisper with a template won't harmanyone.
And GW should encourage build synergy by allowing players to see the actual build.

I play on dial-up. That means that my game runs fine, as long as I don't use any other internet-dependant programs like a browser. I'd like to make sure that my hexes won't overlap with a henchman's when I go out to play (especially since the only way I would do PvE anymore is with a non-Ursan group or with H/H)

/Signed, this would've been phenomenal before heroes, but it's still a good idea.

It could even open a Template Code style window. Then all they would have to do is put the code for each henchie in game, and when you click button x, a template code box opens up.

I agree on principal but in the end most players just use heroes for all the specialized professions and just grab monkbots from the henchman arcade.

It would be a nice feature but I doubt it would happen.
