Title Characters (Profession)
A Shade Of Dark
Ok, I have wanted to try and make a character and get GWAMM on him/her and was wondering, in your opinion, what is the best profession for this. I was thinking about one of these two:
Female Monk (The monk I have is a smiter, I was thinking about making a healer monk anyway, so maybe titles on her?)
Male/Female Sin (I haven't played sins very much, all I do know is I love some of the armor, spiky stuff FTW)
I know that certain classes have certain advantages, but I don't know if any profession has an advantage of getting titles, I certainly have seen a lot of monks and warriors with the titles though :P.
Thanks,
~ASoD

I would choose whichever you like playing more, as you will be spending a lot of time on that character and it's pointless if you aren't enjoying yourself.
A Shade Of Dark
That is a good point, I don't know if I could spend months and months of just healing :P

The 'easiest' character to get it with would be Paragon - the titles you might try for for GWAMM that might have any slight level of difficulty - the Vanquisher and Guardian titles - can be easily C-spaced by a godmode Paragon.
Paragon > PvE
Of course, that's no good - just go for your favourite character.

Alright, I think I'll go remake my old sin and go for it on him ^^

Well I like warriors and I know how to use them best, but monks are good because you can keep yourself alive

55 monk is only good in certain areas. They are extremely susceptible to enchantment removal, and health degeneration. Invincible Monk builds are primarily used in areas that lack Mesmers and/or Necromancers.

God Mode Paragon WTF??? What kind of cheat'em skills does your paragon use because mine is pure useless. Please don't listen to Stormlord Alex. I'd agree you'd have to play a character you really like because you'll spend a lot of time with it. Monk is always popular to find a group though so I'd advice that one.

i have all my titles on my ranger but i wish now that i had done them all on my mesmer, as i enjoy playing her most. ah well.

I agree with the 'play what you enjoy' statement. However, I will also say you should reconsider your approach to the game if I can assume your post is accurate. You said you have a smite monk. That is fine, play it how you enjoy. However, it is best to have the option to play ANY role that character may need/want to play. Every class in the game, and I mean EVERY class has options for multiple builds. Some of those builds are extremely dependent on what you are doing. But having those options gives you more flexibility. Since you want to work on GWAMM, you NEED that flexibility. Some of the titles can be done by c-spacing. Some, however, need you to change what you are doing. I highly recommend getting EVERY skill for your primary class (whichever you choose that to be), and EVERY secondary with lots of skills from several secondaries. Skill capping will be a title you will get, so you will need all secondaries anyway. Getting skills for each secondary that will open build options is very smart. Use tomes if they drop to save money on buying the skills.
But between Monk and Assassin (the 2 you mentioned), Monk will be easier to obtain GWAMM with. The reason I say that is you will find teams easier as a Monk. If you can't get guild/alliance people to help do missions/quests/vanquishing/etc. a PUG may be your only option. Not many PUGs will take an Assassin, especially for Hard Mode. Monks, however, are always taken.

Thanks everyone, I think that I might go with monk now, as Magma said it is way easier to join PUGs, and I especially like not having to rely on other monks to keep me alive, because, as I'm sure most of you know, there are plenty of monks out there that don't know what they are doing :P
Thanks again,

A Monk would probably get you farthest. Just because if you want to PUG some missions/vanquishing you will be a necessity to a group.
**Just make sure to have all of these types of builds: full prot, full heal, full smite, and hybrids of all.
that way you are very versitile (sp?) and can help with any situation.

I only said my paragon is useless, although I do believe paragon is fairly useless in PvE compared to other classes apart from some cookie cutter builds like this "God Mode". Please if you have some good paragon builds enlighten me I sure could use some. Also the reason I suggested against it is because he should just pick a class he likes rather than some class with some cookie cutter build.

There's Nothing to Fear! and Save Yourself!, add attacks, adrenaline builders to taste. Yell a lot, you can be a wammo with a stick.
Just because you can't find a build you like cookie cutter OR otherwise, doesn't mean you should disparage others from an entire profession, or those people that do or do not use cookie cutter builds.

Generally you see Monks, Eles and Necros with GWAMM. But honestly just pick what you like best.
I myself like my sin the best and have 20 maxed titles on him. So imo profession doesn't matter.

I'll say it again. Play the class you enjoy the most. However, realize that some classes will struggle with certain titles more than others. Sins are rarely taken by PUGs because many of them try to tank, can't use an attack combo, or leeroy. I'm not saying all do, but enough people think they do that they won't take one they don't know personally. So a Sin will need more guild/alliance help than a Monk, Warrior, Elem, etc.
Also, unless you use one of the 'exploit' methods for Survivor, an Assassin will be hard to get that title with. 70 AL and afflicted explosions is hard. Either get to GW:EN for some boxing, or pay for runs to Lutgardis for FFF.
Lastly, although you may not want to use it for this purpose until after obtaining Legendary Survivor, a Monk has more options for farming than a Sin. You will want to farm to pay for titles like Drunkard, Sweet Tooth, Party Animal, etc. Sin can farm, but Monk has more options.
Now, outside of titles for GWAMM, you may also want to fill your HoM. This includes armor sets (easy for any class - but Monk has more options than Sin), heroes, mini's, Destroyer Weapons, and lastly, achievements. Completing things like Sorrows Furnace, Slaver's Exile, FoW/UW, The Deep, Urgoz, and DoA will be easier as a Monk. Sin could do all of them, but with PUGs you won't get a team unless they run Ursan.

Very true, Magma, I wasn't thinking in terms of HoM. Maybe I will go remake my monk and get survivor on her, this is like the fifth time that I got to R2 of survivor then lagged during boxing and died /sigh.

I've come to the conclusion Dark Kal is bad at Guild Wars.
The mere fact alone that Paragons put out warrior-strength DPS at range with an unstrippable, permanent IAS (with a laughable downside) makes Paragons incredibly strong already.
Throw into that unstrippable, party-wide defensive and offensive buffs and heals, infinite energy and the ability to use retardedly strong PvE skills and you've got a very powerful proffesion.
People who say paragons are bad... are bad

Sadly thats true. People are very close minded. If they dont see a Profession on a wiki build then your chances of actually getting in a non Ursan is low.
FengShuiDove
My title character is a sin. Reason: besides thinking it's the most fun profession to play, I can also take damage into my own hands and leave the healing to H/H. Sometimes I have trouble getting heroes to target the right person, etc., so I'll do it myself and they can kill whoever they want. With monks you're relying on other people, usually, to deal the damage, whether it's PUGs or H/H. But again, Monks can make or break a team, and that might be advantageous in picking up a group.

Now my question to the OP is...
what build do YOU run as a Sin in HM?
I'm mostly some Moebius, but that's getting boring
tried Locusts's, sucks.
tried Siphon Strength, sucks a bit.
tried Assacaster, was fun until second nerf today.
Now running Ursan, but it's getting boring and boring...
